I've always wanted to try the Microneedling treatment. However I was very hesitant due to lack of reviews and results on darker skin tones.
My skin is in already good shape, but I 'suffer' from slight dark marks. Large pores and wanted a smoother texture.
In the nature of business that I'm in and having to be in front of the camera it is crucial that I have almost flawless skin. My goal is to achieve firmer, smoother glowy skin.
I went to the offices of MDMetro skin institute in Hollywood.the team is great!
Genievieve did my treatment. During the treatment a numbing topical is place on my face for about 20 to 30 minutes after, a serum is put on and that's when the micropen is applied.
I was nervous but honestly the pain was like. 4. All I felt was vibration and some scratchy feeling.
After the procedure my face was dewy and my pores were slightly minimized. 24 hours later I was red as hell. Four days later I was flaky AF.
I'm still waiting for the flaky dry skin to subside the key is to moisturizer moisturizer!
I will follow up in two weeks with my results.

Hello! All of that is completely normal tissue response after a microneedling treatment. Ive done some deep treatments where my skin got so dry I looked 90 years old for a week until that top layer of skin came off! You should have been asked to buy a serum to use post treatment - preferrably hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin and some sort of growth factor to help rebuild the collagen. Without good serums the skin will become overly dry and collagen won't build as quickly.
If you are a couple weeks out a good exfoliation would be ideal - microdermabrasion or dermaplaning with an enzyme mask. Microneedling is not a one and done type treatment though - best results come if you do several consecutively ( a month apart)

What serum would you suggest?

PCA Skin Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum, Skin Medica TNS Essential Serum, Dr. Brandt Power Dose C Serum. The first one is for hydration, the second is for collagen, and the last is for pigment and repair.
