I decided to start a review here after seeing so many people trying to help others out through the process. I injured my nose several times going back 2 when I was around 10yrs old. Allergies always are a problem and I have already had deviated septum surgery twice. I am worried that my nose is weak and something might go wrong because it's already been worked on twice. After the last deviated septum surgery I noticed my nose was a little more crooked than before the surgery. I have really good ins so because they are covering most of it I decided to finally get the cosmetic part fixed. I met with a doctor for a consult after researching for weeks. I decided to go to him after doing more research. He has good reviews and noticed the same things I did when doing the computer imaging. He looked inside and said that I would need the inside worked on again because it's still crooked. He suggested open ryno which makes me a little nervous because I'm worried about scars. I am here to hope fully get feedback and share story in the hopes that it will help somebody else out.

I had my preop apt a week ago and it went well. The doctor and his nurse took thier time to explain everything. They explained that they are going to move the whole nose in the front to make it straight and get rid of the dent by putting the bone he will be taking from shaving down the dorsal hump there. And they will be correcting the "c" shape septum inside. Lots of stuff so I'm expecting lots of bruising and pain and a long recovery time. The surgery is tomorrow and I'm feeling just slightly nervous. I'm feeling good and confident about how the results will be. I can't wait to get it over with though. I hope everybody goes well!

I felt horrible when I woke up from surgery. The doctor said it would take about 3 hours and ended up being almost 7 hours. My arms and butt and heal was in so much pain probably from laying in the same position for 7 hours. My mouth was so dry they fed me ice cubes during recovery. I told them my pain was about a 7 after waking up from the anesthesia. They gave me pain medecine and it got to about a 2 after that. I went in at 2pm surgery started around 4:30pm and finished at 11:10pm. I was very dizzy and sore and could barely walk to the bathroom. I left the hospital at 2:30pm got home an hour later from the hour long drive. That was painful because you could feel every bump. The first night sleeping was horrible. I could barely breathe through my dry mouth. I got maybe 3 hours total interrupted sleep. The second day was much better. And I was able to eat just a little. Soup, applesauce. Oatmeal. The second night I got way more sleep. I was able to sleep for a few hours without waking up. I woke up often to take the pain medication though. The bruising started to change even after the 2nd day. I tried to put ice on it as much as possible to keep the swelling down. The bruising got better really fast as the days progressed. I have the stints and cast removal tomorrow which I am not looking forward to. I remember how painful it was last time. I should be able to breathe much better.
