WORTH IT$2,700
Have been to Bangkok and Phuket for surgery before and I will say hospitals and staff are always amazing but am finding that the more popular they get the more expensive they are becoming and maybe not as cautious as they used to be. Also last time I had lipo in Phuket Doctor left fat on my back over buttocks and when I asked why he said because HE liked that shape and he did not remove much fat at all. So after reading price and review on here from another Aussie in Viet nam I decided to give it a shot. It was very hard to get much info on doctor Nguyen Viet than but I was able to make contact, have asked him to
Put his details on Realself to make it easier for others. Dr's English is quite good. I decided to do this as cheap as possible and decided to stay with doctors sister (she is lovely) at only $20 USD a night and you pay for food etc which is very cheap here. Accomodation is an aircon room with bed and bathroom which is all I need on this trip, although next time I may stay in a hotel in the middle of Ho Chi Minh and spend a bit more money. (Hopefully next May, my upper eyes and bat wings). Arrived on the 15th then picked up at airport by dr's assistant and straight to hospital. Blood tests, heart, etc done then meeting with doctor. Discuss procedure, pay the. off to get changed ( did have to ask for a shower as had been on plane all night) the cleanliness at the hospital is not real good but not real bad either. Woke up in room with 2 beds, a nice little nurse stayed/slept beside me while they monitiored me. No food or drinks offered when I woke. After I kept asking I got a small carton of milk and sipped on water. Afternoon, I went home to house and slept a lot. Hate the beds in Asian hospitals, can be so hard that my back hurts so much I never notice any other pain which may be a good thing I spose! They do not have many western people at present but maybe as more come they will get better mattresses. Next time I come I will get operated on at Dr's clinic, not the hospital I think. May ask to see his theatre there first (pictures) should have looked today but forgot. First day I had big swollen eyes and very sore around body. (Face did not hurt) under my chin Is very swollen and looks like a second chin. Doctor arranged a lady to massage me for 2 hours, she was amazing. Decided to do every day but I have ended up very sore. Will have lady come massage me one more time tomorrow before I leave, although it hurts I think we'll worth it to have a good, smooth finish. The lipo I had done in Bangkok left me very lumpy and they missed a lot of areas. This Iipo hurts more than any of the others I have had but it is the best. He even got the little rolls of fat on my back that 3 doctors from Thailand said you would have to cut off? Stu he's out of face today (day 7) and I looks quite good. Had some Botox put in forehead but hurt so much and cost the same as Australia so won't do that again ( I am a bit of a sook with needles) heading home to Australia tomorrow and can hardly wait to get in my own bed. Doctor Nguyen is a lovely caring doctor and I look forward to coming back next year. Thinking May 2016 so if you want to come the same time let me know! Should look amazing in a couple of weeks!

So it took 3 days to get home to Australia with AirAsia and I ended up in a big dirty hotel for 35 hours in kuala lumpa. Also had all my Aussie money and cards (licence, Medicare etc) go walk about while I was there. Anyway home now. Lipo is coming along well, still really tight and sore. Massage lady told me my stitches looked a little infected so I will go to the doctor today and have them removed and get some medication. I still have a massive lump under my chin that looks like a double chin so just waiting for swelling to go down to see how that ends up. At the moment I am pretty worried about my eyes as they seem to have a bit of gaping at the sides although again I'm still swollen but will start massaging upwards to see if it helps. Will post some photos of my eyes soon.

I'm in shock that you would be so willing to risk your health and wellbeing to travel overseas and undergo surgical procedures with doctors you have not met, in theatres you have not visited in unregulated, dirty hospitals. I hope others read this review and avoid the same, irresponsible and fundamentally dangerous choices you have made.

Whenever you go overseas for surgery you do not get to meet the surgeon until you arrive in the country! But you can do your research and see what type of education and trying the surgeon had and in this case the doctor is a plastic surgeon with training and experience in reconstructive surgery which is better than most Doctors!

I got a quote for top eyelids and under arms (bat wings things) and it was about $1500 USD and that is hard to beat. At the moment I'm watching my eyes as I think there is a to much slack at the the outa edges so will probably get him to fix that up as well.

Good luck with your recovery, hope things are improving for you.

Thanks, all coming along well except the shape of my eyes but I have remembered he wanted me awake at the start of the surgery to do my eyes and I refused so I'd say this is my fault. I will get him to fix next year.
