Nuface - Horrible Side Effects

I'm posting this to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. I purchased the Nuface PRO from the (amazing) medspa I go to. The PRO has a stronger microcurrent than the regular which you can purchase online (the PRO can only be purchased through verified medical practices/medspas/plastic surgeons).
I will say that it DOES WORK. My face was toned, firm, and lifted. I actually really liked the way it made my face look.
But the side effects were HORRENDOUS. And I haven't run into anyone who's experienced the same and it's been so frustrating for me.
I used for one month, and could not use more than 4 days in a row due to intense head pressure, numbness/tingling on my scalp, down my neck, and in my teeth, MAJOR teeth sensitivity, and shooting pains through my head. Not like a regular headache, but rather shooting sensations. It was extremely scary. And these side effects would last for days after I stopped usage.
I started researching microcurrent facials and apparently what this is is lymphatic drainage. And that type of drainage is a detox, which can incur detox symptoms. I'm hoping that is what these side effects were due to, and therefore I started guzzling water and that seemed to alleviate the intensity of the side effects. I never drank water after I used the device, and I think that was one of my problems.
Needless to say I had to stop using completely because of how scary it was for me. Just wondering if anyone else had the same or similar experience? I am super frustrated because I don't think I can return, AND I was loving the results. :/

Yes, I've experienced exactly the same symptoms, from the first time I used Nuface (Trinity). Head and neck pain and pressure, nausea. I've been searching online to see how many others experienced the same, and I have to say, I've come across quite a few people who experienced unwanted after effects, mainly headaches. I've only had mine 4 weeks, but I'm sending back, although as you say, it does work, but I can't deal with the awful side effects, no matter how low the intensity is and for how short a time. All my symptoms stop probably 24 hours later, so it's definitely the Nuface. I'm kind of looking for assurance that there isn't any permanent effects from Nuface/microcurrent facials. So disappointed, but also scary!

You're lucky that yours stopped 24 hours later. For me, 24 hours later they were just getting started! I swear sometimes I still feel the effects, although very mildly, and it's been weeks. I've read that others also took weeks for their side effects to disappear completely.
Thank you for sharing!

It's all a bit worrying! I wonder if any Dr could comment on the safety of the Nuface or micro current facials? I know the Nuface is FDA approved, but I'm still looking for reassurance that no permanent damage has been done - not wishing to scare anyone! Littleness, in response to your comment, maybe I should have said that the symptoms subside after 24 hours, but I'm still getting weird sensations in my head, despite no longer using the device. Scary.

The doctors who have commented have all said it was "completely safe". But who truly knows?
Like I mentioned before it could simply be detox effects which wouldn't surprise me (since lymphatic drainage IS a detox) but it's definitely scary and I'd also love to know if anything is permanent.
I started drinking more water but I know I still don't drink enough!
I'd say start drinking a TON of water everyday. Just make it a habit. And see how you feel. My symptoms seemed to decrease a bit with more water.

Please keep me updated! Feel free to message me if you want.

Thanks. Yes, I'll definitely up my water intake. Hoping that it really is just lymphatic drainage! However, I'm still sending mine back. It was lovely to have a firmer jawline for a while, but guess I'll have to go back to good old saggy! :)

I loved my results! My jaw was sharper than it was in my 20s and 30s (I'm 43). But still sent mine back as well. I'm waiting to see if I get the refund. I'll let you know! <3

Why did you send it back if you had good results?
May 23, 2018
Because my side effects were HORRIBLE.

What if you buy it at Nordstrom? Is that not as strong as your pro model!?
July 20, 2018
The one you buy at Nordstrom is the regular version. The PRO version is only sold at doctor's offices.

Me too. My double chin is vanishing but at what cost?!?

I've been using Nuface Trinity every day for over a month and feel my legs have like nerve pain and are aching and heavy. It only occurred to me after reading comments that this may be my problem too.

The first link was a dead link. The second link states the following (copying and pasting from article):
Many fake NuFACE Trinity devices online come with the branding “NuFACE Trinity/PRO”. The PRO device is solely available through professional salons and in very limited areas across the world.

I got mine at a highly reputable and professional med spa. It is #18 in the country. It was not a fake.

It sounds to me that the current is too strong. I do get a metallic taste and odd sensation when I use close to my mouth, which has metal fillings. I use the Trinity on high.

No I believe an anuthibg sold at Nordstrom is the regular model. The PRO can only be purchased at a doctors office/medical spa.

OMG! I had anaphylactic shock after using it for three days. Called 911 emergency visit and so gave 4 Urgent care visits. I’m on steroids and other horrible meds. Had to have a CAt scan of my head. Not done yet with doctor’s appointments so far! We should consider filing a class action! This device will eventually kill people

Holy **** that is AWFUL!! I cannot BELIEVE you went through that! What did the doctors say? Were they able to pinpoint a sensitivity you have or did they connect any dots? I would love to know what this device is really doing to people! I thought if I had used it one more time that would've been it for me bc of the intensity of my symptoms. I was so scared! I am so so sooo sorry this happened to you and please keep us updated as to your healing progress! ❤️❤️❤️

I understand there's an "almost perfect" fake on the market. It may have been on YouTube. It is the one causing all the problems. Only buy from Nord, Ulta or directly from the mfg.
But I wouldn't risk buying from Amazon or anyplace else.

I got mine from a reputable plastic surgeon's office. They get theirs direct from NuFace. This was the real thing. It's just that scary..
