Had Ultherapy Like HIFU (Ultraformer 3) 9 Days Ago, So Worries About Fat Loss- HELP!

I had Ultraformer 3 (a Korean “Ultherapy “)treatment On 1St Nov. I felt so stupid now as I wish I had found this website before I had the procedure. I live in New Zealand and here this HIFU treatment is loosely regulated and can be performed by aesthetics. I had it done in a local aesthetics place and the operator didn’t seem very trained at all! She used all 4.5mm 3.0 mm and 2.0mm transducers on my mid to lower cheeks and 2.0mm and 1.5mm on around my eyes and forehead. She did extra passes with 4.5mm on my right cheeks as she supervisors didn’t do enough shots. They didn’t tell me exactly how many shots were done where. Immediately after the procedure I can see my lower face has lifted and become smaller. In the past one week, I don’t have much swelling or pain but only tenderness on both cheeks and jaw bones when i touch it. I also feel the jaw muscles are pulling and tight when I don’t touch it.However from the 3rd day onward I noticed my face is smaller, cheeks are more sunken and dark circles under eyes are worse especially on right face! My lips also swollen which it’s weird as they didn’t treat my lips or above the lips! It’s only been 10 days and I saw so many victims here as a result of Ultherapy. I’m so scary my condition will keep deteriorating . Can anyone give me any advise if fat loss will happen so soon? I went to see dermatologist who told me I have to wait for min 6-8 weeks to see any real volume loss. I’m also wondering if damage has been caused are there any benefit to get treatments like PRP sooner rather than later? Thanks

I had ultherapy done exactly two months ago. I initially was quite nervous as well, but the nurse assured me the side effects were normal. I was swollen, and quite numb around my jaw and neck. I am beginning to notice positive results. My eyebrows are slightly lifted and my skin looks amazing. My eyes are much brighter, I find I'm not wearing nearly as much foundation and concealer as I used to. I have actually received many unsolicted compliments on my skin as well. I do notice a bit of fat loss around my chin, my skin feels looser, but it's nothing to be worried about in my opinion. The treatment takes 3-6 months to show true results. Give it time.

I just had ultherapy done almost two weeks ago. I think I feel a little tighter around my jawline and chin. Can’t wait to see the full result.

Don't panic yet! You may be one of the many lucky ones who just wasted all our money and had no real results. Don't assume yet that you are going to be damaged. Reading all the reports of those who were can do strange things to your mind eventually and even cause you to see changes that are not really there. If you do end up damaged or your face is smaller in a way you don't like or areas that have lost fat, there ARE treatments that can help. Restalyne around your eyes will restore any lost volume there and sculptra can help long term if there is true global fat loss. Find a board certified and very reputable plastic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist to help you through this process and come up with a plan should you incur actual damages. There are lawsuit groups you can join as well by research on the web--you will find them, IF you are actually damaged in the end--Try to be positive about the outcome, which could be positive or non-existent in the end.

Thanks for the comments. This is end of week 2 post procedure. And good thing is I’m not seeing things got worse so I’m hoping the positive results will show up later

Please try to remain positive in your mind--it can actually have a positive effect on your end results. Try not to assume things are going to get worse--they may not change at all. Be sure any "changes" you are seeing are not just the result of your really noticing what you didn't like about your face prior to getting ultherapy, or any other treatment for that matter. Also, when you read someone on this site with MANY negative comments, check out their profile and what other treatments they may have had about which they ALSO have many negative comments. Be aware that their are legitimate concerns from some on this site which are valid, and others who are never happy about anything they have done because they are obsessed with their face and appearance--not very attractive qualities to embrace and they are unhappy folks for the most part--we pray for them to get better.

Not sure what you are talking about. I'm DEFINITELY not a plastic surgeon and MOST people who have had ultherapy do not have severe damage to their nerves. WHY CREATE THE WORST POSSIBLE OUTCOME FOR SOMEONE ELSE WHO MAY HAVE NONE OF YOUR ISSUES IN THE END? Honestly, it's cruel and unkind.....
