WORTH IT
I have just had my 1st treatment of four for my abdomen and flanks. I had a lot of reservations about trying this treatment. I was concerned on watching some youtube reviews and written reviews that this type of therapy and machine is not FDA approved. However my clinic is a very high end clinic and they have assured me that this is an FDA approved treatment. I have also done a little research and found that it is FDA approved, at least here in the U.K. Zoe, my coordinator at EF Medispa, has reassured me a great deal about this treatment, they have many happy customers and it does seem to work particularly well for customers like myself. I am 42 and have had two babies. I have loose skin and stretchmarks on the tummy area along with some tough small pockets of stubborn fat which just do not go even with a vigorous exercise routine.
I was also concerned about the pain levels and the fact that a machine would be heating up my skin and fat layers. My clinician, Mariya, who carried out the treatment was excellent. She is very experienced in using this machine and highly trained. She also just so happened to have had the treatment herself.
After one treatment I can definitely see a difference straight away although the full results will not be visible until three months after the last treatment. I will provide some before pics and some immediately after the 1st session which was earlier today. Apologies that the pics are not exactly matching, it's hard to do on your own.
I will also be having carboxy therapy for my stretch marks and will create a separate review for that.

Your tummy is clearly swollen on the 'immediate after treatment' pics. Results of procedures should be evaluated months after the treatment to allow for the swelling to go down and not mask the problem area.

I will be adding more pics as I continue through this journey, there is no swelling and already I see great results. I am very excited about the final result too.

I wish I had gotten it on my stomach instead of my face. Bet you will have great results.

Thanks, I really hope so, am definitely seeing results after the 2nd treatment too. Excited to see final results. I'm also thinking about getting the ultraformer treatment on my neck and maybe a little on my face. I was worried it might be quite painful on the face and neck. What was your experience like?

Hi Witty, could you explain what you mean by it ruining you?
Also did you get it done with a trusted clinic and trained staff?

Hi @glitteryfronds yes I did go to a trusted plastic surgeon's office. It was presented to me as a collagen manufacturer and tightening. What it actually did over the course of a year was eat away all the beautiful natural fat and volume in my entire face. It's pretty devastating but I'm learning to live with it. I have several appointments with top plastic surgeons in my area to see what I can do to help me. I do NOT recommend this procedure. My face is just hanging off my cheeks now...it's definitely a horrible situation.

Second treatment

Before and one day after second treatment. Apologies the angles are not exactly the same, difficult to take them exact holding the camera with one hand! Noticing more changes for sure. This is after the second of four treatments and the final results will be 3 months after the fourth treatment.

HIFU ultrasound causes swelling lasting a few days after procedure. It is not logical to evaluate results 1 day after treatment - the tissues are swollen, which masks the problem that you are trying to treat.

Hi Esk, I understand your point. However, there are before pics each month, which charters the progress more accurately. I have written the review to show the journey as well as the final results when they come in.

2 weeks after third treatment

2 weeks after third treatment. I am also having carboxy for my stretch marks hence the pinprick marks on my abdomen. I am noticing the skin is a little firmer but yet to see anything drastic. I do realise though that the final results are most clear from three months after the last treatment, and I have one more treatment to go in a couple of weeks. I am also aware that after having derma pen with retinol treatment to my face I was rather disappointed that I did not see results immediately but three months after the last treatment and they are excellent, so i'm not loosing hope!

My stomach has a little more loose skin than yours. Did you end up liking your results when all treatments were complete? In thinking about getting it done
I looked into several places that offer treatments for loose skin and stretch marks on the abdomen. I know that other people don't think it looks so bad but it's the way that I feel about it and obviously you too want to address the same issue.
So far, remembering it's only one treatment of four, I think it is a great treatment. There is one area which seems to be very smooth and free of loose skin on my abdomen already.
I am also combining this treatment with carboxy therapy for the stretch marks, carboxy has fantastic reviews for scar treatment.
The HIFU treatment seems to have some incredibly bad reviews but I do know that the clinic I attend is brilliant, the staff are highly experienced and trained.
So... back to your question.
The HIFU treatment takes around 1 hour, there are three stages or passess of the hand held device over your abdomen area. The first pass is at the deepest depth, mine was at 0.9mm, this is to heat up the fat under the skin which then breaks down and is disposed of through the lymphatic system, this takes a period of time (3 months approx.). The second pass it to target the lower layers of the skin at 0.5mm, this is the uncomfortable stage. I found it completely tolerable though and when I asked the clinician to stop she did so immediately. The pain really is quite minimal, definitely less (for me) than eyebrow threading/plucking. I would describe it as a sort of zingy vibrating sensation. The closer they get to nerve endings the more you feel it. The last pass is the top layers of the skin, I experiences only slight redness, though some people experience a lot. The third pass was not so bad as the middle one. Any more questions lets me know, happy to offer info.
