My motivation? my kids, my health, my happiness.(I have sleep apnea). I've been considering Gastric Bypass for years but i was always too scared. I’m still a little nervous don’t get me wrong but it’s worth it . I’m currently 41 years old I weight 234, when I was younger I was about 160 lbs., fit, healthy, till I turned 35, I don’t have to lose that much but I have tried EVERYTHING!! Dr. Jorge Sosa will be doing my Surgery very soon. I pray for a fast recovery. Anyone out there that has had this sugery? HOW DO YOU FEEL???? : )

I haven't had mine yet but I send major prayers your way.. December will be here before you know it.. We are the same weight range.. I was 160 all through high school .. I had kids and then booooooom! All bad! lol Now I'm 232 @ 30yrs young!! xoxox

I will be having mine May 6th ( Lord willing).. I'm still researching as well. I know alot about RNY,but I like to research more about what life is like afterwards so I wont have huge misconception. As of now my insurance requires a 6 month diet, psych eval, and pre- labs......and other stuff.. so, I still got a while and few more obstacles to go through I'm sure. lol

My surgery is in four days. I am so excited and so scared. I am 51 and suffer miserably. I weigh 279. I have yoyo my whole life. I am ready for permanent solution.. Help so nervous

Welcome! Wow, December will come around in no time, you must be excited and probably a little nervous!

We do have a Weight Loss Surgery page, which has some guides written with input from board certified WLS surgeons. You may find some of them useful to read up on!

Please do keep us updated with your progress! I'll be having the same procedure sometime next year.

I am scheduled surgery with Dr Sosa on weds 12/05/12 for gastric bypass he has done my cousin and friends gastric bypass he is one of the best in south Florida attend a seminar if you haven't already you should consider Lap brand if your not a least 100 lbs over weight though .

I had allot of nerves going into this type of surgery but dr. Basa and her staff always reassured me and made me feel confident. I had my rny surgery on Dec 28 and I do not regret it I feel great! My insurance made me do allot of appointments and I needed them to get my nutrition on track with Karen her diet...
