Invisalign Complete!
I realised I never posted a final photo of the end of my Invisalign treatment. I finished treatment January 2019. After a year and a half of trays, this is my new smile!
There are a few teeth I am not completely happy with but this is still a huge improvement to my before photo. I have also included a pic of my teeth now - September 2020, a year and a half AFTER finishing treatment. I was given a fixed retainer on my bottom teeth and a plastic retainer to wear nightly - which I probably only wear 3 times a week. My teeth haven't moved much since finishing treatment.
If you are unsure about whether to choose Invisalign or braces - I think it really depends on your motivation. Invisalign lets you eat the foods you want and aren't as noticeable but requires more motivation to keep them in your mouth. Braces are great too, through force, but limit food choices and are more unsightly.
For me, Invisalign more suited my lifestyle and I am happy with my choice :) I now don't cover my mouth when I laugh and I even teeth-smile in photos! This has been the single-best thing I have done for my self-confidence.

Where did the time go?? Tray 19
Hi all!!
So, yes, life got a little busy and I neglected my blog. I'm sorry!!
Better late then never, here is a little update on what's been happening.
So after tray 18 I saw the ortho and they informed me I would be getting new scans and a new set of aligners (boo!). I was so close to the finish line (18 out of 24) so this was a bit of a setback. I also had to wait 5 weeks for the new set to arrive. Which meant wearing my tray 18 aligners for 5 weeks - talk about ew!! However I was told I could go back to just wearing the aligners at night which was probably the only plus. Unless you factor in the terrible pain of putting them in every night given that the teeth move significantly back throughout the day, I guess this is how wearing the retainer is going to feel every night.....but I digress.
So I went in today for my new aligners and was told I need MORE attachments, I now have them on BOTH of my front teeth and most of the bottom. Oh well, such is life.
I have been given an extra 18 trays , so all up by the time I am finished I will have worn 36 trays. I can change them weekly now too which means ill be done in 4.5 months. Yippeee!! :D
Here is a pic of my today with the new attachments wearing tray '19'. I'm not going to start calling them tray 1, 2 3, etc ill just call them whatever number tray it is that I am up to if that makes sense.
Good to be back, watch this space :D

Tray 15/24
This tray was an absolute doosy. Crazy pain for about 4 days!! I can now see that tooth on the bottom jaw finally coming forwards though :D However I have a stubborn upper right lateral incisor that I swear has not moved for 6 trays now :( Really hoping it does as its the only tooth making my top row of teeth look uneven.
