I had always been insecure about my nose. After a few too many bumps and breaks, I decided to do something about it. I did my research, and found Doctor Naderi in Virgina. He had great reviews so I did my consultation over the phone. Based on the three pictures I sent him, he recommended that I have a chin implant to accompany the work he would do on my nose. Being new to plastic surgery I took his advice. The computer images he sent me looked great, and I was sold!
The nose work he did, has been great, but his partner did my chin implant, and I have been regretting it ever since. I did not recognize myself, the same face I had looked at for twenty years was unrecognizable to me, and it left me in a panic. Dr. Kulak is who did my chin implant. She reassured me that I was just overacting to the swelling and I would probably love the result in a few months time.
Did not happen. I absolutely mourned looking into the mirror and couldn't bear the thought of having something foreign in my body. She told me that if I wanted the implant removed, she would do so free of the surgeon's fee, and I would just would have to pay for anesthesia. She also reassured me that my chin would go back to how it looked before the implant.
I had the implant removed four months later and my chin is still not the same as it was before. I have droopy tissue and skin. I am a year out from that removal, and I absolutely still wake up regretting this life choice. When I emailed her regarding any suggestions for fixing this, I did not hear back.
Im not writing this review to put these doctors down, but to encourage folks to not be talked into additional procedures. If you want to get something done, like really truly want it, then yes! Go for it! But do not allow a doctor to convince you to get additional procedures.

Sorry that happened to you. I'm surprised more docs don't go out of their way to try to fix the problem, starting with answering emails and phone calls. I've been reading that complaint a lot.

Wow I'm really sorry you had to go through that, Im in the same situation only I did not get it removed and i don't know if i want to because i heard that removing a chin implant the results are never the same to how the chin use to look like so i just decided to try to like this new chin but its really hard its very masculine and long and wide i hate it and i can't look in the mirror for too long because i hate it so much to the point where i cry and get depressed I don't really know what to do if i live with it ill live not loving the way i look but if i remove it the outcome is really unknown until i do it but thats a huge risk i don't really want to take :( Do you think i should remove it ?

Your situation sounds exactly like mine. I was seriously so depressed and anxious with it in. It was horrible. How long have you had it in? I had mine in for four months and as soon as financially possible, I had it taken out. Though my chin doesn't look the same as before the procedure, it is so much better with it out. its smaller than it was with the implant and I find relief in knowing that nothing foreign is in there! So sorry you are going through this. And I wish you the best of luck.

Its been 5 months now, I'm still debating if i should remove it or not i keep telling myself that maybe i should wait because it might still be swollen but its hard to look at myself i feel like i look so different and it makes that area of my face look so manly I hate it! Im really scared to go through that whole thing again of recovering it was hell for me .

Well I send you the best! My recovery after the removal was so easy compared to the implant being put in. But it could just be swelling that you don't like. All I know is I mentally felt so much better with it out and though it's not 100% exactly the same as before, I feel like I actually recognize myself in the mirror again. Did you have rhinoplasty as well or just the implant? Sending all good vibes to you!

Thank you I wish you the best too !! and yes i had septorhinoplasty and I NEVER had a problem with my chin EVER the doc recommended that i should get it and while looking at side profile pictures on his computer and did this imaging thing to see how id look like with a chin implant and stupid me thinking he has to know what he's talking about I took his suggestion and said id do it, at that point anything to improve the way my nose was gunna look i was gunna do and i never looked into chin implants or anything, I think i might just wait a bit because really i have no choice i don't really have the funds or the time to remove it or replace it

Hi.

Im so sorry you had a negative experience with the changes. It is absolutely true that dramatic changes to the face can be hard for some people to "deal with" especially when more than one area of the face changes at the same time and especially when its not an aging face surgery. In aging face surgery we take "time back" but in facial sculpting surgery patients end up with a new face and some people definitely have a tough time adjusting to seeing their new face in the mirror or photographs after having seen themselves a certain way for decades. Your experience is definitely one that all patients undergoing elective cosmetic surgery should take note of and consider. Thank you for sharing your story. We do use computer imaging before surgery so patients can start the adjustment to the potential changes even before going through surgery and while the imaged pictures are by no means an exact replica of results, they do give most patients a good idea of what may be expected usually and they can choose to proceed or avoid surgery based on the dialogue and the imaging.
Most importantly though we never ever "talk" anyone into any surgery - ever - period. That is just not our practice model so I had to clarify this point. We bring up and mention things and allow patients to choose based on the information. Regardless I'm so sorry you did not like the chin augmentation but luckily Dr. Kulak always does that surgery from under the chin so there are no changes to the smile muscles and other than some minor scar tissue in the area there are practically no long term effects when you compare before implant and 3 years after implant removal photos IF the implant was removed within a few months of placement. Again I am sorry you had a negative experience. Feel free to email me and update me as to your healing. Hope all is well otherwise.

So after the removal do we need to wait 3 years ??? For our chin to look same as before. I got my chin implant removed which i kept for a very short time and my chin is still huge. Lots of ps write here that in 6 weeks to 3 months it is likely that ppls chin go back to its pre operation shape after removal. So is it 3 years now?
