My motivation behind having earlobe reduction was to have smaller earlobes. I have noticed that my earlobes exceeded the average length and I became very self-conscious. My personal feelings of my ears kept me from wearing earrings, changing hairstyles and to the point of changing position in photos to prevent my ears from showing. I know I probably noticed it more than others but on several occasions people have committed on my ear length, usually at the beauty salon. The pros of this surgery are, I have no reason to hide my ears and I have a new found confidence in my appearance. As for the cons, is the healing time and the questions asked during this time.

Thank you for posting! Do you have any pics you can share? Love to see those results!
Are your ear lobes healed for the most part? What was the post-op process like? Did you need to wear headbands, etc.?

Hi! Thanks for the comment. Yes I have a picture I can share, I will post to my review.
Regarding my ear lobes they are healed however I have some scarring. I am using Scar Zone creme and that is helping the appearance. During the post-op process I had some slight bleeding and had minimal pain (I had ear piercings that hurt worse). In addition I followed the Doctor's direction by keeping them dry as possible, used hydrogen peroxide and OTC bacitracin ointment for a week after surgery.
As for headbands, I am not sure if this is meant to conceal what I did or part of the healing process. If for concealing I did not cause I have very short hair, for possible healing process the Doctor said he could put on skin color tape to conceal. I would imagine if I had longer hair I would be able to conceal my ears however I could not and I was asked on occasion what I did to my ears. When asked I just told them what I did.
Thank you again for asking. Have a great day!

I know what you mean. I'll be 64 in July & have been self conscious for several years now. I AM HAVING a lobe reduction done on 2/13, along with upper eye lids/lower area, lower face lift & neck lift. NERVOUS but GOING FOR IT IN NASHVILLE!
