At 61 years old my face started to get lax with heavy jowls making me look unhappy. The look actually did influence how I felt. Research and thinking, thinking, thinking. Finally got the nerve up to talk it over with my husband. He gave me full support but didn't see what I was seeing. I got the facelift but it left me with more distinct chipmunk cheeks and two more distinct neck bands. Long story short I felt horrible spending all that money and being left with less than good results. Scars along hairline so I could not wear my hair up. But to the good news I decided to do more research get rid of these jowls. Much research again I found a fabulous PS, Dr Ryan Mitchell in Henderson NV. He has such a natural artistic eye, his stitches were so neat. I sew so I was so impressed with the care he took in each stitch. I am at day two post surgery. Lower face and neck lift with chin implants. Laurita, his assistant was amazing, so caring and informative. The business is called Contours and Curves. Small personal business. They are keepers. ????

So glad to hear your revision went well! Thanks very much for sharing your experience on RealSelf. Was your husband supportive of the second procedure?

January 22, 2016
Yes, very supportive. He just let me know if it's what I what to do he will support my decision. He kept very quiet about any comments, I think he was concerned about making any comment that would influence me. It was a very scary thing for him for me to have done.

If I can ask, how much wax the revision?

I got several estimates to have a revision. One was 9,000, including a chin implant. :-( One was $7000., he said it was a bit higher than he would normally do a lower facelift but he would need to take more care and time to do the revision. Answer to your question: This revision with Dr. Mitchell was $6750, they were running a special price that month. They put only me on the schedule for the day to focus on my surgery. How special is that! Knowing your surgeon wasn't on a time schedule to hurry to get your procedure done.
From my research all similar surgeries can run different, depending on the patients needs.

post surgery pic, jowls and neck bands

I wanted to post some pictures of before my surgery with Dr. Mitchell in Henderson NV. :-)
Then I will post my 8 day post surgery pictures of the fabulous results. I so like the way the surgery made the corners of my mouth not angle down. I have better pictures of the different angles of my jowls that looked pretty severe before surgery. I just haven't gotten them loaded to post.

You look great! I had 2 neck surgeries with Dr. Larry Lickstein and unfortunately I look the same as I did before, but my wallet is a lot lighter. Looks like you are healing wonderfully! I couldn't leave the house for weeks. So glad you found a surgeon who actually cares about his patients and knows what he's doing.

My first surgeon that left me with chipmunk cheeks and the neck bands (16 mo ago) offered to redo the lower facelift surgery, in his new estimate for revision surgery he added a mid facelift that I would have to pay for and I would have to pay for the surgery center and the anesthesiologist. His confidence of a great outcome was not comforting. I chose not to gamble on him. I felt horrible to have spent money to have a facelift and not have an improvement. The jowls felt worse than before the facelift. My pocketbook was empty so I looked into CareCredit and other options to get a medical loan. Was so full of anxiety and fear of not getting poor results again. Read so many reviews and had four different consults, with doctors to get opinions. Sent them all pictures and information. I do feel so blessed to have found Dr. Mitchell. He was the most sincere about caring for a good outcome for his patients. I feel your pain and hopefully something will come your way so you can get the results that you are looking for. You deserve it!!!

My last post had two pre surgery pic's and one 8 day post. I am just getting this posting figured out. Hopefully I will get a bit more organized and get better before and after pictures together and be able to get proper titles and captions. :-)

you look great, sweetie. What a difference a surgery makes!

Thank you! I found my DR on this sight so I wanted to share my journey. It's good to be able to share good results since this was a revision from a not so good procedure from another doctor.

You look awesome. This is my next adventure...plastic surgery can get addictive! I mean that in a good way...I had my eyes done 3 years ago because I looked really mean and then a mommy makeover this fall...but I have prominent cords in my neck and wrinkles. At my 3 month check-up, I asked the doctor what he artistically would do to me if I wanted to look refreshed and beautiful for my daughter's wedding next July (I am 62 now) and he suggested neck lift and mid-face lift. And he is wonderful at faces and I'd trust mine to him again...but am REALLY not sure that I can afford it nor the idea of more surgery at this time. But never say never...and with results like yours, you have me really thinking hard. Congrats - you are already and will be even MORE beautiful!

Thank you. If you have a good doctor, which it sounds like you do and you prep your body to be as healthy as it can be for surgery you will do great. Just that darn big weighing it out how on bad you want it. Good luck on your decision making I know first hand it takes a lot of thinking. :-(
