***If you are serious about getting a procedure or surgery completed, you must read ALL of this. It has VERY important information in it and will help you in selecting the right doctor (Dr. Majmundar) for your surgery/procedure**
Prior to selecting Dr. Majmundar as my doctor, I completed a lot of research. When I say I research, I did VERY extensive research. Back in 2009,I had a few different medically needed surgeries completed. The doctor and staff for those surgeries had absolutely no "bed side" manners, they were unprofessional, no one communicated with each other, and the doctor would never remember who I was-which I know doctor's see hundreds of patients, but that doesn't mean that they can't have side notes in my file to remember who I am OR at least act like they do. Dr. Maj always remembered who I was! Especially, when you are dealing with a surgeon. I only mention this in this review, so you have an idea of WHY I did a lot of research and selected Dr. Majmundar as my doctor.
First Impression/pre-op appt:
The office is nice and comfortable and the front desk is very friendly. They acknowledged me when I walked in, rather than acting busy (like many doctor offices do. I mean, how hard is it to look at me when I walk in the door and smile?) I didn't have a long wait, maybe 10-15 minutes and I was called back to a room. The rooms are also very nice and they have these very nice leather chairs you sit in, rather than those hard "gurney" like beds with the loud white paper (that always rips off by the way, what's the point!?). Dr. Majmundar's assistant, Stacey, came in and spoke with me. She is so precious! She has the nicest spirit and is very knowledgeable. She made me feel so comfortable and told me I could call her with any questions whenever I needed to and she would get right back with me. Which she did, EVERY time, AND within 24 hours. Then Dr. Majmundar came and did his check up. He is so caring and friendly and knowledgeable! THE BEST BED SIDE MANNERS EVER! He never acted as if I was taking too much of his time. He answered all of my questions and gave me so much information. He wanted me to be educated on everything and feel 100% comfortable. I was getting a rhinoplasty with some other procedures. My greatest fear, as is everyone, was that I would look different after my surgery. I had visited two other doctors prior to Dr. Majmundar and they both were trying to change the look of my nose-which I did not want. I did not mention this to Dr. Majmundar purposely. I wanted to see what he said first. Everything that came out of his mouth was perfect! He didn't want to change my nose, he wanted it to look natural and for it to bring out my eyes. After my appointment with them, I walked out of the office feeling so safe and secure and confident. Where as the other two doctor's offices I left, I felt scared and knew those doctors weren't touching me with a "ten foot pole".
Surgery time:
I had the surgery at their surgery center in the same building. It was very clean and the staff, again, were very professional and nice. They all made me feel right at home. I never once got anxious or nervous, not even leading up to the surgery (and I can be a worry wart in serious situations). I felt so confidant and knew that after this surgery, everything would be so much better and I would feel better- inside and out. Dr. Majmundar came to me before the surgery and I asked him if he would mind praying with my dad and I before the surgery. He was absolutely okay with it and he prayed with both of us! Dr. Majmundar had prescribed me medication for the pain, but I only had to take that twice. I never had any pain! THIS WAS SHOCKING TO ME! People can think what they want on this, but I believe it was because Dr. Majmundar(& God) is so amazing! had swelling in my face and two black eyes, but the black eyes were gone by day 4. I made sure to follow ALL of the directions I was given for both pre and post operation. Stacey will make sure you know everything you need to do.
Post Op:
The first month, I had scar tissue that kept trying to come back in one area of my nose, so Dr. Majmundar had me come back a couple extra times to make sure that nothing affected the healing process and that everything turned out perfect. This is impressive to me, because it showed me that Dr. Majmundar's skill is like a form of art. In every procedure or operation he does he uses such fine precision and "they are his work of art". He is very humble (please ALWAYS stay this way!) and cares!
I am now a couple months out of surgery and I am SO confident!!! I have always been a confident woman, but it amazes me on how self conscious I was of the hump on my nose. If I felt like someone was looking at my profile, I would get humiliated feeling and quickly turn to where they could see my face. Now, I am proud to show off my profile! This newfound confidence has lifted my spirits in many ways and I owe it all to Dr. M!
