Update - Almost one year!
Well time has flown, I can't believe it's coming up in April that I had my procedure one year..so far I've been very happy with my progress..everything looks as it should and I'm glad that I had it done when I did..that being said..know one noticed..which is what I wanted..they may have but we're not sure..no scarring that's noticeable. I have one small little scar buildup behind my right lobe but we will address that at my recheck in March, probably just a cortisone injection to make it go down. The TSA peel is holding up well, I am having a couple spots taken care of at my appointment also. Dermabrasion on upper lip seems to have helped the scaring I had from a dog bite when I was younger..I may have the one side done again a little closer to my lip line like the opposite side..the lift feels nice and tight and neck line is great. I'm very happy with my decision and I'd do it all over again if I have to..I will post some pics to more..

I'm showing these photos to my plastic surgeon as an example of a natural looking facelift. Flawless.

6 Weeks
It's been 6 weeks since my procedure and everything going great, healing quickly..a tad of swelling under chin and cheeks a bit..numbness still on each cheek area but subsiding..Incisions all healed and scars looking good..putting vitamin E oil on every night..every once in awhile a twinge of pain I'm sure nerve related..very pleased with results..had a little breakout on chin area from peel but that's to be expected..using Dr. Jacobs moisturizer and a tinted broad spectrum moisturizer and bare minerals foundation..

Why did you decide on TCA and not phenol peel. On Wednesday I will be having the phenol on the light side. My PS just feels I will be happier with that then the TCA peel. He said he done thousand of TCA and just like the results of the phenol better. I am also having a facelift! Yikes!

hello,
dr jacobs recommend the TCA peel as his synerglift series is the TCA and mini lift combo..so far I'm very happy with the TCA..if you look at my photos I had lots of sun damage (freckles) and I know the TCA is better for fair skin..will you be posting pics? I'm curious about the phenol peel now..when is your appointment? I'm assuming your having them at the same time? This site was helpful for me to get prepared for my procedure..make sure to get a pillow wedge and dr Jacobs 3 things Apple Juice, Apple sauce, water for the first few days..get the applesauce pouches it is so much easier to try and get a spoon in your mouth..also a child's toothbrush- smaller better..I also used my airplane pillow to hold my head straight..also comes in handy now for laying on my side, I use the opening for my ear as you won't be able to lay on your ear for awhile..just some rid bits of info that worked for me..don't be afraid to soap up your incisions you can never be too clean! Do t use anything but cetaphil to clean them..I made sure to let the water run along time on my head..I showered the third day and was so happy to! Don't use peroxide as that kills off the good bacteria for healing..I wore my PJ's to surgery so I could just get in bed when I got home..so best of luck and looking forward to hearing about your journey! ;0)

I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa in person. Her TCA peel results were spectacular. I'm not kidding. Perhaps it's because of her ability to heal quickly, combined with her doctor's skill and experience. What impressed me in particular about my visit with Melissa is her attitude. She was positive and relaxed after the procedure, and listened to her body; she let it do the work of healing. I think the body/mind connection played an integral role in the amazing results she had. This "zen" mindset is the polar opposite of my own. I'm tremendously nervous about my procedure, but meeting Melissa helped me to realize I need to keep it simple, try not to stress, allow myself to heal, and follow the doctor's instructions. Anyway, this is way more than you asked for! But, I thought I would pass it on.

I am also freckled and have lots of sun damage and premature wrinkles. So my PS felt I needed the deepest peel in order to get the best results. I scar so I think that was the other reason he felt phenol was better for me. He feels better control with phenol than TCA and he said he has done thousands of TCA. But the recovery time on the phenol is long. I am a teacher and I have summer off, so I hope that's long enough! Thanks for the good tips. I will get my pj's ready!

So glad to hear your surgery went well. I am the same age as you are—48years old. I couldn’t decide whether to get face lift or not, but I got that surgery done three months ago. Now many people around me are enviously looking at me, saying that I look 10-year younger than before. I think that lift surgery is really worth it, isn’t it? :)

Oh definitely! I think between the age 42-50 is the prime time to do s lift..it's not as drastically noticeable as if your 55 and over..I akso think healing is much quicker overall..in very happy with my results and look forward to seeing how I look in a year or two..thanks!

You look like a teenager.

I'll have to get back with you on the strength of the peel..I will look at my paperwork and let you know tomorrow..I would say I was house bound for 7-10 days..the peel is what keeps you home..it started peel within a couple days and once it takes off its pretty fast..I had a little swelling and brusing..so I started going out I would say 10 days..I'm lucky as am a house sitter/Petsitter so I was able to just be at my clients and not a regular job..but if you take arnica and bromelain prior to your surgery you'll see a huge difference in your healing time..and of course keeping it moist and wearing sunscreen all the time when its time to start wearing it..
