Heading Back to Dr. Naficy for Chin Implant/Lipo

UPDATED FROM majik921
4 days post

Day 5 post op

WORTH IT$8,700
I had my chin implant and chin/neck lipo five days ago, I have my post op with Dr. Naficy in two days. Dr. Naficy suggested that I add some lipo to the procedure to get a more defined jaw than I would with just the chin implant and I am so grateful I did. He coupled the two procedures and I think the pricing ended up being quite fair for the work he did.
I was on the oxycodone for two days following my procedure, I only took three tabs because I hate the effects but the compression garments I had to wear for the first 24 hours made sleeping almost impossible. This recovery has had more swelling and less bruising than my septo/rhino. My sweet husband has reminded me I am a bit older this time around... hahah.
The procedure itself went smoothly, the anesthetist wasn't as gentle with the IV insertion as the last one I had at Naficy's office so I do have a pretty nasty bruise on my arm and the insertion of the cannula on my arm and on my hand hurt quite a bit initially but I was out fairly quickly so it didn't matter. This time I was awake enough to remember helping the nurse dress me and gather my things. No nausea though I am grateful I had the scopolamine patch and the zofran in my IV. Waking up this time was a little harder, I was groggier than I had remembered from my nose but my throat didn't hurt this time.
I was hoping that more swelling would have gone down by five days post op but alas, I am definitely in the Jay Leno time period for swelling. My chin is pretty numb, I can't smile correctly and speaking is difficult. I have been eating only liquids and very soft foods.
I advise Senakot and prune juice if you plan to take the pain meds or even if you don't because anesthesia and all the laying down during recovery has slowed my digestion down quite a bit. Drinking from a straw has been painful until today so that was something that surprised me.
I can tell from the pics from day one that I am going to love the results but I just have to get through this awkward recovery portion. Wearing the ace bandage type compression the office put in my to-go bag has helped with swelling a lot, make sure to follow through on that! Sleeping and sitting inclined, getting up to talk around and do light chores around the house, drinking lots of water and having things to do to pass the time have all helped me a lot. I am grateful to just be on Tylenol now.
So overall, I think this will end up being a really amazing transformation, but the recovery is a little more difficult than I was expecting though I feel certain the fact that the implant was coupled with lipo probably has something to do with it. I will post more at the end of the week to show swelling progression.

Heading Back to Dr. Naficy for Chin Implant

I had a life changing rhinoplasty in 2015 with Dr. Naficy and he was amazing. I would do it again once a year if I had to to maintain results, it was that easy! He recommended chin implant at the time but my anxiety and pocketbook wouldn't allow me to agree so now at age 39, as I see myself starting to age, the jowly look and underdeveloped chin is getting to me more and more. I want the implant to complete my profile journey!
I had a phone consult with one of his providers and they were able to fit me in next week! This is amazing since he scheduled out until summer otherwise! They asked me to do a covid test a few days before the procedure, take out all body piercings and stop taking any NSAIDs or aspirin.
I have a friend driving me and will have a phone call with the nurse anesthetist tomorrow afternoon to review meds, my history of high blood pressure and make sure all my questions are answered.
Apparently the chin implant is sutured to my jawbone which makes me feel a lot better about the implant's permanence. Pain management is a breeze for most patients and swelling and numbness are usually pretty minimal as well- since the rhinoplasty went so well, I'm confident the chin procedure will be similar.
They are prescribing me some anxiety meds and a scopolamine patch for nausea. I am opting not to take the pain meds because my body hates opioids but she said normally patients are fine with extra strength Tylenol.
Looking forward to my chipmunk face for a week or so. My follow up is scheduled for six days after my procedure and I'm all ready to go!
