Two days post op and feeling great :-)

Had my explant op on the 21st November with the NHS. From first referral to surgery my treatment has been faultless. Pre op my surgeon said she would get as much capsule out as deemed safe to do so, when I was in recovery she let me know that she was able to get all the capsule out which I’m thrilled about. Here I am at 48 hours post op. Feeling very grateful and lucky. Very pleased so far with the results.

Well done, you look good and the added bonus is no more pain. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Thank you. I’m so pleased, don’t mind being flat and tiny just was so scared to be deformed. I’m super skinny so they suit me x
Congratulations on becoming your old natural self. Here is to a speedy recovery.. would you mind me asking did you get them removed on the NHS at a cost to you? .. had they become damaged??
Hi, all on the NHS, I had capsular contracture in both boobs, pain in my armpits and raised lymph nodes. Implants were intact when removed. No cost to me. Hope this helps xx
omg!!
I have pips and capsular contracture, I been have great pain for over a year to which keeps me awake a night. I had gp and explained the clinic who preformed the breast augmentation had vanished into liquidation and so was unable to get help. I had been another gp five years back and sent for mri, luckily there was no sign of rupture. As was causing no problems at the time I decided to leave them be.

Until now of cause, I told the doctor I was happy just to have them removed not bothered about replacement just want the pain to stop. She made a referral to the breast clinic, which was a horrible experience. The doctor who examined my breasts, would not let me speak and kept stating they was not a cosmetic surgery!
An kept repeating they would only remove if ruptured!!

I ended up walking out after I had ultra scan which shown no rupture! Well ok bit of a relief however was given no solution to my pain and discomfort other than use ibuprofen cream.

I been in total despair, as no way in a good financial position to have removed privately.

However in desperate state, I looked at surgery abroad.

Which I was very nervous about but that desperate and thought I may be able lend money from family to have it done as was drastically cheaper than uk.

I sent off health questionnaire and photos, luckily the clinic was totally honest and said they suspected it would not be straight forward proceedure and could not perform at their clinic and strongly advised not going abroad for removal.

I appreciate their total honesty, however I’m still here in pain ☹️

Seems like postcode lottery as to wether they will do this to some.

However after hearing your story am going to head back to gp!

Hope you don’t mind me asking but need you receive this in England or wales?

Many thanks and they look great, no where near bad as they tell us x
I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this. I think i was very lucky when I saw my surgeon at the breast clinic, she was very understanding and compassionate. I live in Cornwall so maybe the funding is different? It does seem a lottery whether the nhs will help or not. Having said that aren’t pips dangerous? Where did you get them? The Harley medical group offer free removals of PIPs? Are you in the UK? Thank you so much for you kind comment of my boobs looking ok, they are tiny, probably smaller than before but I love them and feel so lucky they look normal xx
Thank you so much for that. I've my appointent tomorrow and I'm praying so hard that it can be done publicly because of the rupture.your comment has helped I just hope I am met with an angel of a PS tomorrow because I seriously can't afford to go private... xx
Ahh good luck hope it all goes ok. I think worth saying that you are in pain and it effects your everyday life, for me exercise made my armpits really hurt and to also mention that in light of your rupture you are worried about ALCL. Hope it all goes well for you xx
Did u a lift?

Tomorrow is the big day!

So I’m explanting tomorrow on the NHS. Bilateral removal of implants with partial capsulectomy. My surgeon likes to get most of the capsule out but says I may be left with a circular patch posteriorly to the breast. The bit that is stuck to the chest wall can be tricky/difficult to remove. Feel really happy in her care and what she intends to do. Feeling apprehensive and having those irrational thoughts of the anaesthetic! I’m grateful I’m having this done on the NHS and can’t wait to get these hard balls out of my chest. I have capsular contracture in both breasts-starting to cause me pain and discomfort. Here are some before photos-night before the op. Will post more tomorrow once I’m out. Thank you to all the other lovely ladies on here who have through their accounts given me the courage to do this. ??

Good luck on your surgery!
Thanks so much xx
You'll be so happy when surgery is behind you and you have nice, soft breast tissue on your chest. So much more comfortable.
Just can’t wait for it all to be over. Thanks so much for the message xx
Good luck tomorrow!! I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow and remember very well how I felt the night before..so I feel for you! You will do great and will be SO happy they are out! Its not as bad as you might imagine, I took NO pain meds, just some ibuprofen more to try and stop swelling. My dr sounds a lot like yours, he said he took as much as the capsule as possible without compromising the chest wall, he said he got like 90 or 95 %. I love my little soft boobs and its so crazy, NOBODY seems like they even notice! Everyone says I lost weight...so I guess my boobs just made me look fat! Makes me so mad I ever did it in the first place, but can't go back, we need to move forward, heal our bodies and try to make better decisions in the future! :) I am sooo happy I got mine out, and I am sure you will be too! If they don't look perfect, don't panic, mine are taking some time to fall into place and even out, but I am sure they will. will be thinking of you tomorrow and waiting to see your next post!
Ahh thanks for such a lovely message. I will be so glad when it’s all done and dusted. Yes my surgeon has said it’s rare that any surgeon gets all of it as the risk of removing from the chest wall out weighs be risk of it staying in and I’m happy with that. I totally know what you mean about getting them in the first place, definitely the bigger regret of my life, the only comfort I have is that if my going through this puts my daughter off having them in the future then it would have totally have been worth it. See you on the other side-will post later on today hopefully xx
That is a lovely comment @newoldboobs
Good luck!!
