55yr Old Mum of 3 Children, 5ft 11inches 67kg a Long Awaited Breast Reduction
Since the age of 16 I have always had large breasts, and following the birth of my girls my breasts became even bigger, heavier and pendulous. Even when I lost a little bit of weight my breasts were still large but became like spaniels ears.
The surgery was amazing, I stayed in hospital 2 nights, was totally spoiled. For the first week I had a fairly heavy dressing on with the extra support of a good front opening sports bra. The second week a lighter dressing and support bra, paracetamol and ibuprofen for pain relief. I wasn't allowed to get the scars wet so no wallowing in the bath. Plenty of follow ups at the clinic. By two weeks my wounds had healed brilliantly, although obviously still red and swollen. Back to work after 3 weeks, still wearing support bra, still quite swollen, and very tired, now able to bath, I wish I could have taken an extra week off. By 3 months every thing had settled down well, still slight swelling particularly under my arms, experiencing bouts of nerve pain, I was for warned about that. I continued to wear support bra until at least 4 months. I am now 8 months post surgery, and my scars although still visible continue to heal well. I occasionally get nerve pain, and the breast tissue and nipple are still quite numb, I have spoken to my consultant who has reassured me that this is normal recovery and it can take up to 2 years for complete healing. Overall I am very pleased with the results, I am now for the first time in my life able to wear a strapless bra. My size prior to surgery 34gg, after surgery 34dd
Mr Hurren was amazing so easy to talk to, his expertise and professionalism was second to none. I am so pleased with the results.
