My expectations are not to have a six pack, just to get rid of an apron of skin and look better in my clothing. After four pregnancies (one almost fifteen pounds!)and a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes about 5 years ago, I want to do this for myself. I think it will make it easier to maintain my health because I will look better, and anything I do will be evident instead of constantly being discouraged by how I look. I want to wear clothing that is stylish and younger looking.

I just want to say good luck on your decision to go ahead with the procedure. I will be 62 in November and also had 4 kids all c-sections, overweight 5'2 148lbs up and down all my life. I made my decision and had my tummy tuck on June 1st, 2018. My PS was very upfront and and straightforward at my consultation. He said I will not have a flat stomach which was fine for me (never really had one anyways). He told me he would do an inverted T tummy tuck because of excess skin above the belly button . I am 9 days post op. Other than the drains (they are really a pain) I am a little sore but doing very well. I can pretty much get around on my own, my husband has helped alot, you do need help the first few days after the surgery. I love the results!!!! So glad I decided to have it done . Again good luck.

Our situations sound similar. Did you have any liposuction? I am thinking of a tt but don’t want yo have more surgery after. My dr doesn’t do it all st once. He goesnt yhink I’ll. We’d it but I’m not sure. What happens to the upper abdomen when the bottom is gone. Do things redistribute?
Hope this isn’t a silly question.
Thanks Carol

I am glad I didn't do the Lipo with the tummy tuck. The recovery would have been too hard. I am coming along, and I am glad I stayed with just the tummy tuck.

So far, kind of thinning all over. Swelling above suture line and mons area. At least I can see a waistline starting to appear. Getting this drain out will be a major relief.

I am looking into doing this myself. Dud you just have a tummy tuck orcwas rhere more involved? My dr. Is only proposing a tummy tuck for now. But I don’t want more surgery later. Did you have liposuction or was the TT enough to make you happy?

After consulting with my doctor, we decided the tummy tuck was enough to deal with. If I am not happy in a year, I will go back and may be do some lipo.

I am glad I stayed with just the tummy tuck . It was enough to recover from.

Week 4, hope this damn drain comes out on Tuesday. Taking the binder off some. Went back to work this week, left early Thursday, took Friday off. Hoping the holiday weekend and determination to rest will do some good. Beyond tired, puffy and [RS bleep]. Geez

Trying to lose a little weight, but between the diabetes and Hashimoto's, it's a challenge. Trying to eat clean and tan a little to avoid fish belly lol. Kind of wish I had scheduled earlier, but enjoying visit from grandkids, swimming and fun in the sun. Looking forward and working on a position attitude.

Visited my DIL who was very encouraging and positive. Her results are very noticeable and pretty. She told me that the pain is minimal and said to go for the best compression garment available and to wear it faithfully. She and my daughter were so encouraging and I referred my daughter to Realself for info for some procedures she might be interested in. I am trying to eat better, and after the visit with my girls I am less apprehensive.
