A few pics 3 weeks out
They're a little grainy cos it's on my phone. I'm still thick, which I'm hoping is a lot of swelling which will go away. But even if it's not, I'm smooth and flat. It's everything I wanted!!!! I kept the scar covered by my undies but it's looking good, too.
Got my drain out yesterday!
So happy. I was still draining a good bit but he left it up to me. I told him I was SO ready (well, I said it a little more forceful than that. I'm a potty mouth) so out it came. I have read where some people feel pain when getting that sucker out but mostly just a weird feeling. I was SO worried about it but I didn't even feel the weird feeling. It was out before I knew it. So since I certainly don't want excessive swelling, I will keep taking it easy as the doctor keeps saying. Really that's the only thing he keeps harping on so I know that that's the most important thing, to not be in a hurry. It's not even been 24 hours and the hole already looks better and less oozing through the gauze. I do think there's something to this not having all my energy back yet. I felt tired earlier last night than I should have and fell asleep soon after. So I've been sleeping a lot and it's not because of pain meds. Not complaining, just mentioning it anecdotally because I didn't think I'd experience that after coming out of the anesthesia as well as I did (I wasn't groggy at all).

I'm pretty pleased. It's hard to tell how much swelling I have. I have the compression garment on round the clock. I love the location and line of the incision. I stopped pain meds last night. No pain today. I plan to only use Tylenol for any breakthru pain if I have any. I've taken 3 showers so now that I've stopped the Norco which was just making me feel ooky, I feel fairly normal. I was told I will have the drain in for 2 weeks so I'll keep up my antibiotics and blood thinner injection and just use the Norco and Flexeril PRN. Hardest part -- besides the injection! -- is walking hunched. I was told to but also I feel really tight so I'm scared to see how much I can straighten up. Follow up appt. is tomorrow.
