I've been thinking about getting my cheekbones...

I've been thinking about getting my cheekbones done for a while now - it all started when I got rhynoplasty back when I was 21... I guess you could say that I was caught instantly, however, I was JUST amazed by how natural and seamless results, a good plastic surgery could give.

Anyhow, I've spent the past 6-7 years pondering the idea of getting cheek implants... I didn't even spare much thought on injectables back then - the mere idea of injectables seemed like a bad attempt at addressing my situation... besides, very few people even touched the subject of sculpting young male faces with injectables back then, it was all about looking younger!!! and I didn't want to look younger... I was 23 for crying out loud! anyhow... back to the subject!

A few months ago I made the choice to consider injectables to give the "chiseled/scandinavian" look a go before committing to full time implants, and I decided to start looking for an ultra reputable place to do it... so I stopped researching for surgeons specialised in facial surgery to do my implants, and started looking for doctors that also did injectables themselves... not sure why, just preferred a plastic surgeon doing the work rather than a specialised nurse... nothing personal - I have nothing against these places, I bet the quality of the work is also very safe... BUT when it comes to my face, I'd rather pay the premium.

The deed was performed by Dr. Ravi Jain at the Riverbanks Clinic in Harpenden, UK (for those of you who read this abroad, Harpenden is a picturesque village nestled in the lush English country side, scarce 30 minutes from downtown London) Luckily, I happen to live in this village and so it was obvious for me to try Dr. Jain's clinic as my first choice - Also worth to mention that Dr. Jain has another clinic in Harley Street - for those of you Londoners who want to get this done.

The entire thing was a delight from the get go, the clinic is in a lovely old house, which provided an inviting, relaxed, private and breezy environment throughout; also the members of staff were very warm and welcoming; Dr. Javi was attentive and polite, he listened to everything I said and gave me the chance to have an open discussion about my journey and expectations from this procedure.

From the moment of consultation to turning the key in the ignition of my car to head home, it took around 30 min. The worse part was the anticipation of the injections!!! My heart was raising a bit, the nerves of an unnatural result, etc, etc. - Then the prick itself was not THAT bad... I mean it is an injection after all, but it wasn't worse than visiting the hygienist.

You can see the results in the pics below - it isn't a drastic change or anything though. On Dr. Jain's advice I got 1 CC in the left cheek and 1.2 CC in the right cheek for balance; all I wanted was to get a subtle yet effective improvement in this particular area... I have to say that the results are extremely pleasing - and I don't think I will get extra CCs next time as I'm very happy indeed.

I hope this helps someone out there.
