59 and Feeling Like a New Woman - Harley Street, London

I am 59 and I have recently had a facelift procedure with Dominic Bray at his Harley Street practice.
I underwent a full facelift, neck lift, upper eye lid surgery, Liposuction and Platysmaplasty under local anaesthesia and mild sedation. For some years I had been contemplating upper eye lid surgery as I had developed heavy sagging over my eyes as I had aged. I found Dominic' web site by chance following a Google search and was immediately drawn to him by the idea of having local rather than general anaesthesia. Having spent many evenings looking at Dominic's patient reviews and before and after pictures I started to think about the possibility of a full face lift and eventually took the plunge and arranged a consultation with him - the rest, as they say is history. I am now 6 weeks post op and I am loving my new face - which I may add is just like my old face but fresher and firmer with a firm jaw line and neck and new eye lids that have opened up my face and show off my blue eyes again.
The four hour operation seem to fly by. Remember, this was done under Local with mild sedation. I could hear some of what was going on around me and could speak if I wanted to - but I didn't feel a thing and wasn't aware of my face being cut and stitched at any point. For me the whole experience has been pain free - I know we all have different pain thresholds but I can honestly say that I went home the next day, rested in bed for a couple of days and took Paracetamol every four hours and only experienced mild discomfort. Yes, my face became quite swollen and I had extensive bruising but that is to be expected. when I awoke each morning my neck felt very stiff and moving my head was difficult but this eased off once I had been up and about for a short while. It can be a bit of an emotional roller-coaster and I did have a couple of days when I felt weepy but once I could see the daily improvements in my face I soon forgot about any regrets I may have had and any tears soon became replaced with big smiles as I could see the improvements to my face. Even my husband, who had not been happy about any of this, began to admit that he could see a difference and my youngest sister who is 45 and came to see me daily, started to complain that my neck was smoother and firmer than hers (and has since been spending a lot of time on Dominic's web site.) Last weekend my husband's family all gathered for a family celebration - they were not aware of my procedure and apart from observing that I looked very well not one of them asked if I had any work done on my face and I didn't enlighten them. This just demonstrates that Dominic can achieve great natural looking results that even your nearest and dearest can't detect.
I had my five week check up with Dominic this week and I am more than happy with the results so far. I still have some healing to do but my new face should have finished cooking by the time I go back for my next check-up in June.
