Week 13.5 - Ears Getting Better But Still Quite Red

The worst part about the whole recovery is my ears. They still feel strange, especially the left one which is still rather knobbly around the lobe. The redness seems to be getting more pink now but this part of the healing process is sooooo slow. I do think my ears look so much worse than other people's at this stage. Let's hope in time they look much better. Right ears seems to be much smoother than the left one. Ann

Neck Stitches Out

Phew, neck stitches (from the small mole in my neck that Dominic carefully removed last Tuesday) taken out at doctor's. Must say this was quite an ordeal ???? and far worse than having my stitches removed after my facelift work. Lol!! Small wound which should heal nicely. ????

12.5 Weeks Post Op and Still Getting There

Hi, it's now 12.5 weeks since my surgery and I'm healing nicely. Neck still feels right but I'm having manual lymph drainage for this. So we'll see. Had a worrying time over the last 8 weeks since a small lump appeared under my skin
on left side of neck. Dominic did examine it at week 5 and thought it was probably scar tissue. But it continued to grow. Can say Dominic was really kind even thought he was on holiday because he answered all my emails about the lump nicknamed my M&M. He fitted me in for an appointment last Tuesday and removed the lump there and then - it was a mole under my skin. I'm much happier now. Still have some issues about the skin under my chin but D feels he can't improve on it. I look sooooo much better than I did do I think I'll see how things go. He is a delightful person and he really is there for you. I genuinely feels he cares about his patients. Having stitches out this Tuesday so can't wait for this. Another reminder of my surgery? Lol.

Dominic was the fifth consultant I had seen to enquire about getting rid of my turkey neck which was really depressing me. Every time I looked in the mirror all I could see was my neck, not my pretty eyes or my smile. The first 2 consultants were a definite NO, the third one I saw would have been the one, but he went and retired. The fourth consultant I definitely did not care for, but then I found Dominic Bray's website. I rang his office immediately and spoke to his lovely PA Lucy. She put me at ease right away. I knew I had found the right consultant to do my face. I had my consultation with Dominic last September and the minute I met him I felt at ease. He asked me what I wanted changing - how different to the others I had consulted with who prodded my face like a piece of meat. He examined my face and discussed the procedure with me. He showed me lots and lots of previous patients and the work he had done. I was with him for over an hour. I came away knowing that I trusted him with my face. I have to like the person who I am putting my trust in. Dominic does not come across as the usual holier than thou consultant. I was able to ask him questions without being made to feel disparaged in any way. My surgery date was made for June and when I got to his clinic on the day in question he came up to the reception and put me at my ease. I can honestly say I was very nervous indeed, but after local anaesthetic and sedation I did not feel a thing and the 2.5 hours of my operation flew by. I was in a different zone while I was having my face and neck lift and liposuction. I felt relaxed even though my face was being pulled and cut. I was bandaged up and off I went to The Marylebone Hotel for the night. Dominic came and visited about an hour later to change my bandages. He answered ally questions so I was happy about everything. The next morning I could already see the immediate changes. Dominic spoke to me and emailed me during my week of rest. I had some of my stitches out after 8 days and again Dominic was there to answer questions and put my mind at rest. No question is too stupid for him. He respects his clients and he is easy to talk to. I'm so pleased I waited to find him to do my facial work. As he specialises on the face only he is the best. He takes pride in his work and he is there for his patients. I have nothing but he highest praise for all his staff and colleagues -Lucy is there for you and gets back to you. Rebecca is here for skin advice etc and the rest of the staff during my operation were just fantastic. I cannot recommend Dominic highly enough. Some things are just worth waiting for and he is one of them. I'm hoping when everything had settled down, I will have the face I wanted. Ann
