Dermapen for Pigmentation

I decided on this treatment to get rid of scarring...
WORTH IT$441
I decided on this treatment to get rid of scarring and hyper-pigmentation from spots.
The treatment took around 15-20 minutes and was MUCH more painful than I expected. Numbing cream was not applied beforehand and I didn't question this as I assumed it wasn't going to hurt that much!
After the treatment my face was extremely red and stung.

Day after
it is the morning after and my face is no longer tight and has stopped stinging. I was told not to wash my face until the day after so there is still a bit of dry blood. I am not expecting to see results for a good couple of weeks but I would definetely say my cheeks are VERY plump - I was told this would happen but I'm not sure if this swelling and it will go in a couple of days.

how is your skin now

I think the scarring has faded, but not enough to say the pain was worth it! I think I'd need to do it a couple more times for decent results but after one session I wouldn't say there's a noticeable difference, just a little fading

In my opinion, you look better!

Thanks! It definitely worked while I was using it, But now my skin looks like the before pictures so I don't think it was worth it.

Update
I didn't think there was a difference after having one treatment, but after looking at my before pics I think there is a little reduction in scars.

It's definitely worth it! It's good, unlike other treatments that require you to keep using them (:

Out of everything I've ever tried, this is the ONLY thing that has worked! It is absolutely worth it! I haven't done an update but there are NO blemishes on my skin whatsoever!!!

I have tried a number of things over the years to address my acne scars and hyperpigmentation from every scar I have ever had on my face. I have olive toned skin that is reactive to perfumes and other things people take for granted that they can put on their skin. This means certain treatments are 100% out as they will cause more damage.
I only discovered derma-rolling a couple of years ago. What I like about it is that it thickens versus thins your collagen unlike laser treatments. It also does not add to hyperpigmentation which almost all other treatments addressing acne scars can cause.
I found using copper peptide immediately after and the days following a derma-roller treatment boosted healing and scar/pigment reduction.
Unless you are going really deep I would suggest you consider buying a home roller or derma pen and do a 0.5mm treatment at home once every other week. Throw on some form of copper peptide afterwards or a serum that has natural versus chemical ingredients.
Had I known how well microneedling would work (as good or better than fraxel or other fractional lasers) I would have saved a lot of money, downtime, and probably had smooth skin today.
It takes time for your skin to rebuild after having a derma roller sessioin, but if you take photos or have areas you are familiar with (I had a scar set called the three amigos along my right temple, an area that I called the full moon on my lower right cheek, and high heel two-step on my left cheek that I know/knew intimately), you will see improvements. There are areas of my face today that looks better than when I was 24 years of age. Smooth and no sign of scarring or the pigmentation of scarring. I can actually go out of my house without makeup...
You get micro-swelling just after any treatment. It builds a lot of hope as your scars are less noticeable. When the swelling goes away the scarring returns. Getting rid of the pigment in the pit of the scars helps alot in reducing your scars noticeability. You are then dealing with shadows which only getting your skin smoother will help. Micro-needling can make a difference but it takes time.
Big hug and sending you love.
Thank you!
