Well where do I start ? I had been thinking of getting rid of the little beast that hanged from my jaw , I hated It and slowly but surely it was getting bigger and looser and no amount of weight loss would help , my mother and grandmother were cursed with the dreaded slack jaw!! It was really getting me down. Being on this site really gave me a great insight as to what to expect , but I still don't think I really understood quite what an invasive surgery it is , all said though I'm so glad I went through with it . I would like to share my story because so many ladies journeys helped me when I was worried or feeling down and there was some great tips as well xx

This pic was taken 10 days post op , still a fair bit of stiffness of neck but no pain , got tired very quickly though , you might think you look great but your body does take longer to heal than you might think and you have to learn to be patient and listen to your body x

You're so right. It takes a couple of weeks to get the anaesthetic out of the system. Your neck and jaw lift are amazing. Brilliant work by your surgeon. You look gorgeous!

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm having my 'underhang' dealt with on 25th July! It's good to know about how tired one gets etc. You hardly seemed to have any bruising and recovered so quickly. You look stunning - your profile is amazing. I'm older (55) & apparently we all lean forward as we get older, so I won't get a 90 degree angle like yours, but I look forward to ANY improvement. I won't be posting at time of going through it - I'm far too scared. All those real-time posters must be a great deal more confident about it than me! Please can I ask - is it stiff when you look up to the ceiling? - Does it feel like it can stretch properly? (or don't you want to stretch it?- I don't think I'll ever stretch my neck again after I've had it done, in case it grows again!!)

Hey there Eyebaglady, feel funny calling you that!! Your gonna be so happy with your result !! Can't wait to see it , I'll follow your story and if there's anything you want to know and I can help you with I'll try x So let's talk about stretching. When I first took bandages off (day 3) by the way I had no drains ! It was so so tight and felt very uncomfortable not gonna lie , but it was never painful. To be honest it was all uncomfortable but never painful so I can't complain , I now move my neck and head and stretch it in all directions no problems, but you do worry about that like will I over stretch and mess it up!! Also be careful when chewing you food after surgery I made lovely juices and soups with nutri bullet and I loss 9 pounds as well !! [RS bleep]

Thanks for the advice! I do Weight watchers so have lots of soup recipes, and the discomfort should keep me on the straight& narrow. Losing weight at same time would be an added bonus, got about 10lbs to go! Good to know it's not painful, thx

Can't believe yet that it's gonna happen - like something's bound to crop up & cancel it all or something! Problem with that attitude is I'm not really preparing properly... I can only do it at end July so I've got summer holidays to recover, so it's vital it goes ahead - I could not wait another year!

Hopefully it will all go to plan, it's the waiting game now! That's brilliant you've got all summer , I don't think I gave myself long enough time to recover , I felt tired constantly and you'll feel slot of pressure in your head if you do to much to quickly xx

Good luck to you with that - I'll have to look it up on here, presuming it's some sort of lipo or laser. Hope it's not painful. Sounds like something I could do with as well! Hoping to lose a few pounds from not being able to eat for a while!

Hi Mcspud & AlNino, it is done! 2 nights in hospital (sickness after GA), & I'm the worlds biggest wimp about sutures/scars. Nearly faint at having to put Fucidin cream on. Blind most of day due to various antibiotic eye drops. BUT, even black & blue I can see that the deep contours under my eyes are no longer there & my collapsed throat has vanished! It's covered in some sort of tape (hope not same as the stuff they use to keep cannula on back of hand in hospital or that's gonna tear my throat right off on removal). Has anyone else out there had this? It cover the whole area, not the little white steri strips, more a massive see through thing? Feeling quite sorry for myself esp at night, but I'm getting there!
