So Happy with my Breast Augmentation Decision and Experience!

Dr. Mark Gittos and his staff are so amazing!!! I never thought I would look forward to every single BA consultation, surgery, and aftercare appointment so much, but I so did because Dr. Gittos and his team just made every visit so pleasant. I'm 26 years old, petite, of Chinese descent, 5'3", 46kg, and I went with Motive Demi 320cc implants, under the muscle, from a 32A to 32C! It's been 4 week after my surgery date, and I'm so so so pleased with the results and overall experience!
I'm a California native and had my first consultation in the Sacramento, and during that particular consultation, that surgeon brushed off of most my concerns, particularly with sizing and scarring aftercare (I'm of Chinese ethnicity with PIH, so I was really worried about raised scars and hyperpigmentation). Overall, it felt like a very 'get in, get out' process. Six months later, I decided to make some calls in Auckland since I was going to be there for a couple of months. I went with Dr. Gittos for a consultation because of his extensive experience with breast augmentation surgeries and his skilled surgical experience with complex reconstructive surgeries. This is purely just my perception, but the idea that breast augmentation would be a relatively simple procedure (easy peasy) to Dr. Gittos made me feel a lot more at ease.
When I went for my consultation, Dr. Gittos was caring, knowledgeable, thorough, and most importantly, really listened to what I was looking for and my concerns. I had a picture of the ideal look I wanted, and he corrected me on the cc's I initially thought I needed to achieve the look. He knew exactly how many cc's would help me achieve full C cups, and I'm so happy that I trusted his advice. He was also honest about risks and costs, which I really appreciated.
My surgery day was in early Dec 2020, and I was so well taken care of that I basically felt pampered lol My surgery went really really well (yay!), and the healing process was actually very manageable even though I went under the muscle. I don't consider myself to have a very high pain tolerance, but my recovery surprisingly wasn't very painful, and I only needed OTC painkillers. I'm convinced that the minimal pain was because of a skilled surgery though. I followed doctor's orders religiously and was queen of the TV remote. I kept my surgical bra on always and took sponge baths for 2 weeks. Since I don't have the best luck with scarring and hyperpigmentation, I did everything I could to minimize disturbance to the scars, and it's now 4 weeks later, and they've healed so nicely! The scars are small (about 4cm), and the wound has closed neatly. Dr. Gittos even scheduled several follow-up visits to check on my healing progress and address any additional concerns.
I'm so happy with my new boobs!! I'm thrilled that I went through my breast augmentation with Dr. Gittos, and I'd highly recommend him!
I'm at 4 weeks after surgery, but I'll update with more pics once they've 'drop and fluff' more in the coming months :)

I'm still wearing the surgical bra religiously, since I had been advised to wear it for 2 months after surgery. I haven't experienced much pain 2 weeks post-op, but I do have seldom tenderness on the side of my breasts which I believe will completely go away after the 2 month mark. I'm pretty sure it's just the 'side boobs' stretching out lol The implants are dropping lower and are not as high up as before, and they're softening up nicely :) I'm pretty much back to my regular routine, and have been doing light housework and leg exercises without any complications. I did go try on some bras and so far, I'm now a 32C, which is right on the mark of what I was going for. I'm excited to see the final results after a couple more months!!

They look great! How many cc?
January 25, 2021
thanks! I went with 320cc :)

The girls look great! I have just booked into for a consult for mummy makeover, feel a bit nervous as he doesn't have many before and after shots to see his work If you don't mind me asking what was your cost, I see he has a range in pricing online.

ty! For the breast augmentation, the surgeon fees (inclusive of the Motive implants & GST) were 6,700 NZD. The hospital fees and anesthetist fees were billed separately.

I noticed in the States, many surgeons have a bunch of before and after pics, but that wasn't really the case when I looked around in Auckland. When I called multiple surgeons in Auckland before booking a consultation, 3 of the offices stated they don't put many patient pictures online due to privacy concerns, but the portfolios are viewable at the office. At Dr. Gittos' office specifically, I got to see before and after pics on his computer to get a good idea of his work and what I was going for. Best of luck!

Hi, how did your consult go? I am also thinking of getting a consult with him, but a bit nervous after seeing some of the reviews.
January 25, 2021
oh that's great news, yeah was hoping he will show me some before and after's to me, as I couldn't just trust a surgeon without seeing his work.
Its especially helpful as you have only just had it done too, a few complaints for other people a few years back, so that concerned me a little.
January 27, 2021
loulougirl I just want to warn you........there are still complaints now! I’m glad that watermelon sugar is happy with her results though.
January 31, 2021
I didn't find many online reviews for the Auckland plastic surgeon community, so I based my surgeon decision primarily on my consultation. I'm really sorry you're going through this. :( Can you review with more details on what happened? Particularly if you might have been happy with the results soon after post-op before things started to go wrong? Or was it a bad job from the beginning?
January 31, 2021
Hi, I’m sure you won’t as the complaints are in the UK :-(. Mine were terrible from the moment I woke from surgery and been in pain every day since (they look awful too). Yours look great so hopefully all is good for you xx

2 months post op update!

The implants have dropped even more! When I lay down on my back, my boobs have a much flatter profile than before. They're also more soft! My left boob seems to have dropped more than my right one since the right one is a little softer to the touch. I know that both breasts may not drop at the same rate, and usually the dominant side takes longer. I'm right handed, and I've been pretty much completely back to my normal routine. At one point (6weeks) I think I used my right arm too much and my right side was extra sore the next morning. I took it easy for a couple of days, and thankfully the soreness subsided. They look pretty even right now, so hopefully the right side catches up lol
I'm soo excited that my 'side boobs' are coming in!
At 2 weeks, I feel no more pain, just sometimes discomfort on the sides and the area where the Incision was. I never lost sensitivity to my nipples, but I was quite numb from the lower half of my breasts right under the nipple immediately after surgery. Now that area is much less numb, and I've regain most of the feeling back. yay!
My scars are healing pretty nicely, but I wish they'll heal up even faster. I have an issue with hyperpigmentation, and it's not darkening too much yet. Fingers crossed! I've been using micropore tape to protect the incision sites, so they sometimes leave an unattractive residue (as seen in my pic). I plan on continuing the use of the tape just for peace of mind because I want these scars to heal nice and flat!
I'm switching over to wearing a sports bra for more relaxed support, and it's so much more comfortable than the compression bra. I need to get more sports bras because that will be my primary bras for a wire (no underwire for several more months!).
I look forward to more 'dropping and fluffing' because they're not as squishy and natural looking to my liking yet. I'm told it could take up to even 9 months for final results, especially for someone with tighter skin, so I just need to be patient.
Hope this update helps someone on their journey!
