Starting to change daily...

WORTH IT
I’ve had to ditch the compression garment at night after talking to my surgeon this morning. This is because I still have some gastritis which is getting worse at night and we both think the compression to the abdomen can’t be helping matters. So I’m going to try for a few night without and then go back to it if things improve.
I noticed I’m fast getting a flat tummy now. Today seems a lot different to yesterday. I’ve uploaded some pics. I can see the definition coming back - woohoo!
I am however getting some really hard lumps in places. A couple of pea sized ones and one much larger about the size and shape of half a little finger at the site of my groin incision. I really hate touching that area anyway and now I have to massage a big lump it’s making me squeal!
Well I doubt I’ll be checking in for a while as there’s little else to report now. Perhaps I’ll pop some more pics on here in a month or so when the final result is closer. So unless I think of anything useful to add before then, best of luck with your journey!

Following this. I'm so nervous about the pain after and lumps! Can i ask how much was your surgery, you didn't add it to the review
I really wouldn’t let it put you off. It’s uncomfortable but not unbearable. To reassure you, I’m going back in jan to have my thighs done and if it was that bad I wouldn’t have the guts! You will love the results but they will just take a bit of time. Keep up the aftercare recommended by your surgeon and it’ll be great. For 4 areas (I have to go back for the fourth being my thighs) it’s around 6k plus sedation at an extra cost. That’s pretty much the general price for this procedure I have found. Best of luck!
Ok thanks for the update xx
Hey, lovely results! I am planning on having my thighs done with Dr. Comins, I was wondering how you're getting a long, do you notice any irregularities or contour defects after doing your abs? Do you have any signs of hyper pigmentation? Do you recommend him for thigh liposuction - i am hoping to do the circumferential one (I am not big at all but for some reason have quite a large amount of fat on my thighs) and my biggest fear is contour defects.
hi there, so sorry I’ve not replied sooner. have you had your consultation with Dr Comins yet? if so how did you get on? I’m going up there in a couple of weeks for a review and then the beginning of Feb for my thighs. I love the results in clothes- it’s great to be able to buy the tops and dresses I’ve always wanted to wear without a belly bubble anymore, but I have a feeling I will need a little bit of revision work as I have a rather annoying pocket of what I think is likely to be fat, on my mid/upper right side of my abdomen which is the same shape and size as an egg and at the moment it’s affecting the overall result. it’s not worried me, as I know Mike will be able to fix it when I have my thighs done but I’m pleased it’s winter as I wouldn’t want to get my tummy out in a bikini just yet! what also doesn’t help is the Christmas weight gain. I’m not heavier than I was but I had lost a few lbs after the op (few weeks in when swelling went down) and I could do with loosing about 5lbs which I’ve gained over December. hopefully that will have gone by the time I see mike next. with regards to contour defects, once the fatty pocket has been dealt with, I think it will look great. my main concern prior to surgery was getting an odd shaped belly button but it didn’t alter at all which was pleasing. no hyper pigmentation at all. and according to the Dr, the thighs are a lot easier to recover from too so you should be able to get on with things pretty quickly after surgery. are you considering IV sedation? I don’t remember a thing which is just as well given I’m back in there for thighs soon! let me know how you got on. take care
You look amazing! I have my surgery booked with Dr. Comins in 2 weeks. I’m having waist and inner thighs. Thank you for posting your experience and tips, finding it all very useful!
ah thanks for the comments! he’s a lovely surgeon as I’m sure you’ll already know from meeting him. best of luck with it! I’m also up there in 2 weeks for a tummy check up and to discuss pending thigh surgery. best of luck - I would be keen to see how you get on.
Her notice look amazing in the pics. Quick question did you have to have any blood tests done before the surgery? Or weeks prior to the big day? x

Swelling going, the lumpy stage is expected but frustrating!

Well it’s day 12 and I’m pretty much just getting on with life again. I don’t sleep very well because I find the garments restrictive and last night I got a bad stomach ache (unrelated) and ended up taking it off for the night. Felt good to be out of it!

So I’ve uploaded some pics and as you can see it’s pretty unexciting right now. I’m a lot flatter but there’s still a lot of localised swelling preventing much definition from showing. My flanks are particularly swollen still but I was warned by my MLD lady that this area is the last to go down.

I’m so pleased I have the good pics from the day after, before the swelling as I know good results are going to come - in just bloody impatient!

Right now I’m lumpy. I have hard little pea size lumps here and there, with a much larger hard lump by my groin incision. The one that was giving me trouble for the first few days. Again, my MLD lady said it’s all to be expected and that I’ve still got a really good result. She thinks after 2 or 3 more sessions the lumps will have dispersed.

So that’s about it at the moment. I will check back in soon and hopefully have some new pics to share.

Finally... I’ve turned a corner!!

Wow! So I’ve not been updating for a few days because to be honest it was a bit stalemate. The swelling came in with a vengeance on day 5&6 and for me, these two days were the hardest.

I think what made things worse was that I was back working and running around with a busy week. Add that to the lack of sleep (3 nights in a row hardly sleeping a wink) and it probably made me less tolerable to the pain. Ok, it’s not unbearable, but it’s this nagging soreness that then becomes more of a burning feeling at night- particularly right in between my ribs under my boobs where I think Dr Comins ‘chiselled’ a bit more for extra definition.

Now it’s day 10 and things are so much more comfortable. I also have a new compression garment which is much softer and doesn’t dig in around my really tender area under the breasts and on the ribs.

A bit about garments...

The first garment I had was by Macom. I felt it wasn’t really suited to my body shape but that’s probably because I have a non typical waist to hip ratio. The waist fitted well but it gave me bad VPL and the cut was uncomfortable on the ribs. On my one-week check up with Mike, he had another couple of garments for me to try. He gave me the same brand but down to the mid thighs to stop the VPL, which helped that problem, but I still found the same problem under the ribs. He then offered to send an alternative brand garment which he mentioned was softer, to my house, to arrive the next day. I was really appreciative of this as I know they’re not cheap. It arrived very first thing and I was so relieved to find it was much more comfortable. This one is by a company called Recova Post Surgery, and is the brand VOE. I will just point out though, that having been pleased it was so much softer, I didn’t really realise until all the tags were removed and I’d worn it for a few hours that it’s not really tight enough. It’s a small and when I went online today to see if this was the smallest size, I noticed they go down to an XXXS and advise sizing down by 1-2 sizes so in hindsight I think I should have gone for an XS. I’ll stick with this and when I’m less tender under the boob area I’ll go back to the thigh length macom garment.

Ok enough of garment blurb.

MLD sessions are going well. I’ve had 9 scheduled and my therapist says I should hold at least 2 back for when I have my thighs done in January as she thinks I won’t need them.

The swelling seems to have gone slightly this last 24-48hrs, or at least the bloat I felt anyway. But when I look in the mirror at the moment, I’ve lost all those defined lines I had at the start before the dreaded swell came in. So that’s why there’s no pics to upload right now, as there’s nothing particularly exciting to show you. Just a waiting game now and I think bit by bit each day now, I’ll start seeing an improvement.

Oh and my MLD lady advised me that the flanks are the very last things to go down so not to worry if I feel I still have love handles!

Still really pleased and even more so now the discomfort has really stepped down a gear!

Will upload some more pics in a few days. X
