So after decades of lugging aroung unwanted...

So after decades of lugging aroung unwanted massive breasts, I scraped together the courage to consult my overly blunt family doctor for a referral to a plastic surgeon to get the breast reduction process started. The referral was faxed to at least two surgeons in my area and Dr. Patterson's office was the only one who responded, almost immediately. Then the process bega..

Some of his more negative online reviews made me nervous, but having worked with both patients and doctors before, I was fully aware that there are always, always two sides to a story. Dr. Patterson seemed objective, kind, sympathetic , soft spoken and articulate. His staff was understanding and helpful. I found the pre-op package was thorough and honest regarding patient expectations, outcomes etc.

Operation day went smoothly, I broke out in hives and tried my best to remain.calm. and think clearly. I recall an assessment right before the surgery where I was made to stand naked while Patterson and a younger female doctor assessed ways to proceed. I recall the female doc exclaiming things like "her left shoulder is higher!" And other gems that would probably have devastated me under normal circumstances but I had taken Xanax and didn't really give a crap. Additionally as a medical person i understood time constraints and the need for objectivity. Dr. Patterson remained kind and professional throughout which helped me. Besides the pain, that was the only negative experience I had, excluding a few minor emotional freakouts in the week after the reduction, until I got used to the routine of healing.

Regarding the operation itself, the small perky b cups i wanted were not in the cards for me with my current body weight and amount of breast tissue, etc. I am now a d cup which is a huge improvement contrasted with the large and uncomfortable e,f,g whatever cup I was then (different methods of measurement lead to multiple measurements, headaches)

Seven months later my boobs are shaped beautifully and the scar tissue is slowly fading. From the side they are nearly perfect. They are not perfect little b cups like i had imagined but they never were, they are smaller, the back pain and shoulder pain is gone and I am no longer hiding behind tops that resemble pup-tents. I have doc Patterson to thank for that and I would recommend him to anyone for the breast reduction procedure.

Doctor Patterson was busy, but took the time to be patient, kind, sympathetic and objective. Great surgeon, experienced, forgot to mention that he has performed a large number of breast reductions, and is very competent.
