Halo Laser Swelling
Hi I had the Halo Laser procedure 3 days ago. I thought the procedure itself wasn’t painful. I did numbing cream an hour prior and I also took a Valium to relax. There was some discomfort at points during the procedure - around lips mainly. As time went by the parts of the skin that had already been done began to feel like they were on fire. But they mated a wet mask over those areas an it immediately sooth the area. At the end I was given a cold air blower that felt so good and took the burn away while on the skin, making it bearable. I stayed extra time after the procedure using the cold air for comfort. My nervous system also went into overdrive after and my legs and body started shaking badly. I got chills as well. I was given a gel mask to wear home, which felt good. I used the ac on the car ride home as well, which was comforting. I continued to shake all the way home. But things eventually calmed down. I continued to used a handheld fan all night as I laid in bed. Anytime I took the fan off I felt burning. I took two TylenolPM and slept almost sitting up on two pillows. I woke up the next morning with zero burning. Just a dry feeling. No swelling at this point. I spent the day low key at home and then around 4 pm (24 hrs after procedure) I began to swell. I took some Benadryl and went to bed early. I woke up at 3:30 am with chills, racing heart and with excessive swelling. I did not feel well so I ended up going to the urgent emergency care near my home. They ended up giving me fluids, doing bloodwork, and giving me IV steroids. Some of my labs were off but they ended up concluding that it was a result of the trauma and my body’s excessive response. They sent me home with more steroids. I went home and slept more elevated and woke up again with extreme swelling. I took a dose of my steroid and drank lots of water and stayed upright and by 4 pm (48 hours after procedure) I ended up sweating some improvements. Will update as time goes on.
