Hairline Lowering/Forehead Reduction

WORTH IT$12,200
I found this site while searching for hairstyles to cover my high forehead. It was something I was bullied about by my sister at a young age and has been something I consciously, more than once a day, notice about myself and hated. Always having a fringe, scared to swim, be outside on a windy day, get my hair wet, or get my picture taken in general, I knew this was something I needed to do for myself. It was reviews on here and encouragement from my husband that helped give me the courage to go through with this surgery, so I’d like to document mine in hopes it will help people just like me make a decision!
Through research on here and websites, I decided to go with Dr. Gal Aharonov, MD located in Beverly Hills, CA. He has done over 3,000 hairline lowering procedures over the past decade, more than any surgeon has. His FROST procedure to lower the hairline without the use of expanders, along with his super natural results and very minimal scar visibility is why I chose to go with him.
I had my Skype consultation with him in June, as I had to fly to LA for my procedure from Canada. I had my consultation today at 4pm- pretty easy to find and a parkade right across the street. As most boast, I was greeted with kindness and a hug by the very lovely Faye. She is genuinely sweet and caring about all Dr. Gal’s patients and very helpful. Dr. Gal went over basic information about the surgery, confirming I was sure I wanted it, and discussed my vision and what I wanted. Although I forgot to measure how high my hairline is now, he recommended 2cm and I told him to go with what he felt was natural looking. He wrote out my prescriptions for the antibiotics, pain meds and anti-nausea meds to pick up, as well as the hair rinse I got from the Rite-Aid across the street. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning and I have to be there at 8am. I’m a little nervous, but excited! I think it will be life changing for the confidence it will give me :)

Good luck! I can relate so much I feel like I’m not living my life to the fullest because of this insecurity! It will be so nice to just be able to wear your hair back and not worry. I hope that soon I will have the money to get it done, it will be so worth it.

Day 1- Surgery Day Post Op

Surgery went well I think! Dr. Gal and I agreed to take it down 2cm (which would bring it down 3cm on the recession aides, but overall it’s brought down evenly to round out the hairline. He said I had a cowlick on one side (where the hair grows back, not forward) and it might jut make the scar a touch more visible in that spot. They hooked me up to the IV with anti-nausea, vitamins and minerals etc. Surgery lasted about two hours I think. The nurse said it doesn’t hurt to take one anti-nausea pill before you start feeling sick because it’s more preventative and won’t stop it once it comes! Icing on and off between my neck and eyes every 20 minutes. So tired and hard to sleep sitting up and having to switch icing, but not feeling too terrible on a scale of 1-10, pain is probably a 4-5. Going to try and get some sleep here and dressings come off tomorrow! Excited to see the results!

Thank you! Yesterday was rough, not going to lie! But I’m feeling a bit better today and showering and getting the bandage off felt better! I feel you for sure- I always have had side bangs and I just want the freedom to pull my hat back into a ponytail and feel that freedom!

Day 2- Bandages off

MM162
Yesterday was a little rough after my surgery cocktail wore off. After seeing other reviews and talking with the nurse, I took the anti-nausea pill before I started to feel sick (I’ve had three other surgeries and have been sick from the anesthetic with all of them) and nothing seemed to work. I was sick 3 times yesterday and quit taking the prescribed pain meds after the first time I took them because they made me sick as well. My husband ran to the store and got me regular Tylenol 500s and I switched to those. I switched icing my eyes and neck every 20 minutes. Faye recommend getting a couple bags of corn because they freeze fast in between (and don’t get mushy like peas haha) so that’s what I’ve been using. Sleep was hard to come by, but the day the first night is the worst to get through so here’s hoping! I have some swelling on the side of my face and bruising behind my ears but Dr. A said that’s normal. I’m feeling a bit better today after getting the bandages removed, just looking to catch up on sleep and a little sore. First shower was super weird not being able to feel the top of my head. Didn’t quite get all the stuff out of my hair but keeping my incision moist with the ointment and hopefully see some swelling go down over the next few days! Really happy so far with the way it looks and following Dr. A’s recommendation to lower to what he thought was natural for my face. Really excited the recession on the sides are finally gone!

Your result is beautiful! You’re right, the sides look so much better, you must be really happy! Please keep us updated with how your recovery goes, I had this same operation done on Tuesday in the UK and I’m happy so far, but still very early in the recovery process..

Did you have this done with Dr Inglefield at LBPS by any chance?
September 13, 2018
Yes I did :) if you’re looking into it I would defo recommend him
September 14, 2018
Thank you! Yes that was the thing I hated most, so so far I’m happy with the results! Can’t wait to see what I look like not swollen lol how is your recovery going??
September 14, 2018
Yes your Dr did a really good job :) the first 24 hours of my recovery were awful but I’ve been feeling better every day- I’m on day 3 now and the pain has almost gone completely and I slept well last night for the first time (It’s so hard to get used to sitting up sleeping lol)! But I still have swelling around my temples and feeling quite lethargic, hoping to get out for a walk today. I am really happy so far, just worried about shock loss at the moment as I know it could come in the next few weeks. I’m hoping to post a review soon when I’m over the early recovery stages, but you are welcome to private message me any time!

You look great! Thank you so much for not blacking out your eyes. It is SO helpful to see all of you. My hairline is similar to yours and seeing your result is reassuring. :) XO

Thank you for your kind words! :) XO I was definitely going to, but I also found it was hard to grasp the way it looked when you do, so I decided to be brave! Haha are you thinking of getting this done??
