Hair is Way Worse After Electrolysis

I have been doing electrolysis for 2,5 years. I started when the peach fuzz on my chin started getting worse. The problem is that the hairs are getting gradually stiffer and longer. I can trace it to where the therapist has been working, areas left more or less alone are the same. I have realized way too late that I need to change my therapist.... i regret strarting this process and wish I had my peach fuzzy chin back. Does anyone have any explanation on why the hair may be getting worse? Low intensity on the needle? The needle not being placed right?
