I wanted to share my results after a bad experience with Dr. Hakan Doganay at the AHD clinic in Antalya.
I went in 2015 and ended up with bad scarring in both the donor and recipient areas. When I arrived for the consultation, I was given a tiny purple mirror to draw my hairline rather than a large wall mirror. Looking back, this was a major red flag. Additionally, while their marketing suggested 1-2 procedures per day, their coordinator admitted they actually perform around four.
When I raised these concerns with the clinic last year, I found them very difficult to communicate with. Despite being in clear distress, I often had to wait weeks for a response. The clinic has since claimed my scarring could be from a previous procedure I had with Dr. Feridouni. However, the difference in work is night and day. I had 1,200 grafts with Dr. Feridouni, and those extractions were spread evenly and are barely visible. In contrast, Dr. Doganay’s 800 grafts were taken almost exclusively from the sides, leading to the concentrated overharvesting I see now that my hair is buzzed.
I deeply regret not returning to a more careful surgeon like Dr Feridouni. They eventually offered a 'free correction,' but after the lack of technical care in their extraction patterns, the slow communication, and their lack of transparency, I do not trust them to touch my scalp again. Please do your research and prioritise technical skill over marketing.
