WORTH IT
As I was getting older, I began to notice that the amount of hair on my head was getting less. I tried over-the-counter medications for treatment, but they didn't work. Watching TV advertisements on hair transplants, I began to think about that. I read a lot of information about the procedure. I decided to go to the best hair transplant surgeon. One that only specializes in hair transplant surgeries instead of one that offers different cosmetic surgeries, including hair transplant.
In my area, one of the offices that specialized in only hair transplant surgeries was Anderson Center for Hair in Atlanta, GA. I made an appointment for a consultation with the center. After evaluation of my hair condition, I was offered Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) surgery. All my questions and concerns were answered, the cost of the surgery was presented, and I agreed to the surgery. I chose a date for the surgery that was convenient for me.
The day of the surgery, I was supposed to be at the doctor's office at 7:00 AM. I filled out all the required paperwork, and then I was invited into the procedure room. I watched a video about the details of the surgery presented by my hair transplant surgeon, Dr. Wetzel. Then Dr. Wetzel came in and introduced himself. We had a short conversation about the procedure, Dr. Wetzel took pictures of my hair, and then the surgery started. It was a whole-day event. The level of discomfort and pain was less than I expected. As I was given just local anesthesia, I somewhat felt what was going on my head. The time flew fast. We took a lunch break, and I had the selection I had picked in the morning before the surgery. Then the surgery continued, this time I fell asleep, and was awoken when the surgery was over. Dr. Wetzel said that everything went well. A nurse gave me a package with medications and everything necessary for recovery. They explained to me what I had to do, and a dedicated driver transported me to a hotel nearby.
The next morning, I came to the doctor's office for the first hair wash after the surgery. Then Dr. Wetzel checked my hair again and said that everything looked good, and I drove home that day.
It's been over a month since my hair transplant surgery. Everything is going as it was explained. I plan to have the recommended Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment in two months after the surgery to improve the results of the hair transplant and look forward to my new hair in a few months.
