Infection as predicted

It's been almost a week since I got the procedure and, as predicted, I got an infection -- ONLY on the side that Buket worked on. See pictures below . I've reached out to the clinic but haven't heard back

Too Rushed

I just spent 4 days in Istanbul visiting Cosmedica clinic. I had what they told me were 5,000 grafts transferred from donor areas of the back of my head and chest. The reason that I am skeptical of the amount is because nobody ever counts or checks the number. I counted the removal from my chest -- which was meant to be 700 -- but which was in reality not more than 400.

The clinic is nice and clean and everyone there seems friendly. My problem was with one particular nurse -- Buket -- who was assigned to do my transplant.

- From the start she was very rough. When she shaved my head, the shaver got tangled in my hair and instead of stopping and cutting it free she yanked it along with a clump of my hair right off my scalp!

- For the first couple of hours, while they were removing grafts, the door of the room was kept open and people were walking in and out and chatting with her like it was happy hour at a neighborhood bar. Eventually I asked her to close the door and this stopped.

- Throughout the procedure, she generally seemed to be rushing through it. I do not believe the right amount of grafts were collected. They even forgot to give me antibiotic IV the second day, which everyone else received. They put in the catheter in my arm at the beginning of the day but then forgot to plug the IV bags to it. So, of course, without antibiotics, I am at greater risk of an infection.

- I began to feel like Buket was not putting any grafts in and just poking my head and so, eventually, I complained and received a different nurse, who was better.

All in all, this could have been a fine procedure if I'd received a competent person who did not rush through it. I would recommend to the clinic that they focus more on quality over quantity. They are trying to serve too many patients and it seems to be affecting the quality of the business.

Simona, who translated and guided us through the procedure, was very nice and explained things well.
