Six Months Later and I Am So Happy That I Chose Dr Cinik.
9 month update.
At this point my hair is growing well. Not sure if there is any more increase in density at this point, but I think density is very good and I love the hairline. No one I meet would notice that I have had a hair tramsplant.
Six Months Later and I Am So Happy That I Chose Dr Cinik.
So far six months have passed and I am super happy with my results. I went to Dr Cinik’s Clinik on 14 October 2019. I was 42 years old at the time and probably at a Norwood 3 scale.
I booked through Quno Medical but ended up dealing with Funda, one of Cinik’s assistants a lot. She always got back to me on the same day throught WhatsApp or by email. Even when I was not sure where to go at the airport when I arrived, she called me straight back. The hotel was fine with a great breakfast. Istanbul is a very busy city and the street in front of the hotel was very busy.
Early the morning after my arrival I was picked up with 3 other people and taken to the clinic. I was scared as hell as I went on my own and do not really handle pain very well. The clinic is nice and spotless clean. I was assigned a translator who was very helpful. After a short wait, I was taken to Dr Cinik’s office where we discussed my hairline, medical history etc. He measured my face and drew what hairline he proposed. It was spot on what I was expecting.
I was taken to pay the fee and then for my before photos. I decided to opt for a full shave, even though I had the DHI method booked.
My procedure was done by Beyza and her team. She used a 0.7 mm punch for the extraction and transplanted 2950 graphs. I asked and she confirmed afterwards that they implanted 1030 single- , 778 double- , and the rest mixed graphs. The whole procedure took about 7,5 hours including a short lunch break. After the anaesthetic I did not feel a thing and actually fell a sleep a couple of times.
The technicians were very friendly and I ended up playing music from my phone from the windowsill. Dr Cinik checked in at least 4 times to make sure it was all going well. Even Funda popped around during the lunch break to say hello.
I was taken back to the hotel and slept that night in a sort of upright position.
The next morning I was picked up again for my checkup. The bandages were removed from my donor area and my scalp inspected by Dr Cinik. Afterwards, I met with my translator who gave me the medication I had to take and my shampoo.
I decided to walk to the nearest Metro stop and went to the old town with a big hat on, to do some sightseeing. Istanbul is a great city and so easy to navigate. There are trams, busses, metro etc like many European cities. Google maps also made it much easier to navigate. I also enjoyed some local food and finished my day with dinner at the hotel restaurant.
On my third day I was again picked up and taken for my first wash, where after I was taken back to the airport for my flight back to Ireland.
7 days later all scabs were off and my donor area looked great. I went to work on my 7th day and no one even realised. People thought I just had a tight haircut.
I shed most of the implanted hairs in month 2, but since month 3 my hair have been growing like mad. I also use 1mg finasteride every second day. My hair have been getting thicker every week and I think my hairline is spot on and very natural looking for my age.
Every month the clinic emails me for update photos and enquiring how I am getting on. This customer service is above what I expected.
I still regularly message Funda as well on my growth, and she is as friendly and helpful as when we first started messaging.
I would recommend Dr Cinik’s clinic for a hair transplant if you are thinking of getting one done. Dr Cinik expects only the best from his team and that is what I believe I got.

Most clinics in Turkey include the hotel etc.
I probably spent €50 on food and if I remember correctly my flight was around €200.
