WORTH IT
After spending an afternoon researching the various providers for hair restoration on the internet, I made the decision to go with Anderson Center for Hair. As it turns out, I made a wise choice.
I called and to set up a free consultation at the Sandy Springs location. There were able to see me within just a few days. They have a nice lobby with a TV that has informative content concerning the facility and hair transplant methods. That gave me a better idea of what to expect.
I initially met with Nelson and we discussed what I wanted to have done. He explained to me the different methods of transplant and the procedures for each. He was very down to earth and easy to talk to and answered all my questions and I had a lot of them.
After talking with Nelson for roughly twenty minutes, he asked Dr. Lee to come in and discuss things with me. I was taken aback by his light hearted down to earth demeanor as well. Not your typical big headed know it all doctor attitude. LOL. He took a look at my hair, in some areas, the lack of, and told me what particular procedure would be best for me. We talked more about the timeline of how things would go and what to expect. We also discussed ways to prevent future hair loss. He talked to me about the different medications that are approved to help prevent future loss and to make your hair thicker in some cases. I asked about any complications and how they would be handled. There really weren't any to speak of.
Dr. Lee felt that I was a good candidate for the procedure so we moved forward with discussing cost and set up a date to get it done the very next week. I told him I would recommend them if they could make me look 40 again. LOL. I'm 57. It's still very early but I'm happy so far and am looking forward to seeing the final results.
I arrived at 7am the morning of the procedure. They took me back and I got settled in. There is a TV for you to watch but you want see it long after the meds kick in. You do need someone to drive you because you will be sedated pretty good as to not feel any discomfort. The little cocktail Dr. Lee gave me worked very well.
He got started promptly and we were off to the races. I never even realized I had passed out. Never felt a bit of pain at all. I woke up around noon and they had a small meal for me ready to eat. They really knew what they were doing with the sedatives because as soon I finished eating, I was back to snoozing. They procedure was finished around 3:30 or so. Pretty long day but you want recall any of it.
They sent me home with some additional medications to take for a few days. I had just a little swelling around me eyes and forehead one day but other than that, everything was smooth. You do have to use an ointment for the cut on the back of your head where they remove an area of skin with your hair for the transplant. The cut is hidden by the rest of the hair on the back of your head. No one knows but you. The stiches for that comes out in 10 to 12 days.
The transplanted hair started growing within a week for me. I am very pleased with the procedure and results thus far and would highly recommend Anderson Center for Hair if you are considering having a transplant done.
