This is a before my first op with Dr Ilker, after one year and after my second HT with Dr Ilker to get more density at the top. He has done yet another amazing transplant and I cannot wait to see the final result. Even though I was happy and was advised by Dr Ilker and his assistant Cansu that I looked absolutely fine I still felt I needed more at the top and they took on board what I wanted.

April 2019 I went for it and had a hair transplant. Beforehand I had done tonnes of research and narrowed it down to a couple of providers, I chose Dr Ilker Apaydin at New Age Clinic in Istanbul as his reviews were second to none just the best reviews I had seen and amazing before and after photos. After being in contact back and forth getting all my questions answered very promptly and extremely honestly I decided to book myself in for it.
They made everything such a breeze, so easy. Transfers, hotel pick up from the hotel to the clinic and back and at the clinic everyone made me feel at ease, Dr Ilker spent time with me talking about what I expected and also was very realistic about what results I would have as I was a Norwood 6 (so pretty bald) , also he explained I have very fine hair and the light colour of my hair was also a down point, so from the very beginning I knew what to expect. He also let me have say in how my hairline was and advised on age appropriate height and shape just made everything so easy and straight forward for me. Dr Ilker also done all the incisions which is a big must for a great outcome (another reason I went with New Age Clinic). Had a hair wash the next day and then got the transfer back from the hotel to the airport where I flew back to the UK.
A year down the line I was so happy with my results I had hair I had a hairline it was just so unreal, my confidence had sky rocketed. I did however feel I could do with a bit more density on top. Saying that I did have the maximum number of grafts the first time thanks to Dr Ilkers expertise in combined FUE/FUT procedure but due to the extent of my baldness we knew I may need a second.
I had been in contact with Cansu throughout the year as she was frequently asking me how things were going wanting photo updates to they can see the progress and give advice etc. I explained to Cansu that if possible I would like some more density at the top but wasn't sure if possible as my donor area wasn't the best also the fine hair I have but she passed on my request and photos to Dr Ilker and he done me a consultation report and said I could get another 2000-2200 max grafts with FUE to give density to the top of my head. So I booked it in.
I went back for the second last week (September the 9th).
I got off the plane and had a nice easy transfer to the hotel. The day before the operation I had a message from Cansu explaining what would happen and what to do and what not to do. The day of the operation Cansu met me in the lobby of the hotel and took me in a Taxi to the clinic, she is a very friendly down to earth woman, very funny but also extremely professional which I cannot say enough really helps put you at ease. Got to the clinic and Cansu takes you through everything that's going to happen (she was also explaining in the taxi on the way to the clinic which helped you know what to expect). The clinic was different to when I went for the first it was very clean and tidy and very professional (the old clinic was too I have to add). I had photos done a nice long chat with Dr Ilker who took so much attention to detail again and was getting my input which I think is one of the main things in a hair transplant when the Dr takes in what you want and doesn't just say you need this but also takes in your input.
Ot prepped and started the procedure, the numbing was absolutely pain free, Dr Ilker done the incisions (as I said a big must that the Dr does them as it's one of the most important steps for a good outcome), got grafts extracted then had a nice tasty lunch then went back in for the implantation afterwards I met with Leyla who talked me through the medication and what to and what not to do she is a lively lady with great experiance I met with Leyla on my first and she remembered me as did everyone else which was a nice feeling. The whole process was efficient the technicians were on top of their game just such attention, patience and so friendly (thank you lady's). After the operation I was very well looked after. Was taken back to the hotel with Cansu. The next day was hair wash day so again Cansu met me at the hotel and took me to the clinic I had my hair washed and everything explained in great detail by Cansu, Dr Ilker also came over and had a look at my hair as he had kept checking on my the day before, Dr Ilker, Cansu and myself were very happy with how it had gone. I forgot to say, as I said I was quoted between 2000 and 2200 grafts they managed to get a great deal more than that so that really made my day. After having a coffee and a long chat with Cansu I was transferred to the airport where I made my way back to the UK again.
My opinion of the staff.
Dr Ilkerr, his expertise in the field is outstanding, listening to the patient, being realistic and being just a great man and Dr all together.
Cansu, Dr Ilkers assistant is such a people person, made me laugh, made me feel at ease, explained everything clearly, very knowledgeable and an expert in knowing the answers to everything, she's like an encyclopedia of information, lovely lovely woman who will go out of her way for you.
Leyla, Leyla explained to me the meds very clearly and the what to and what not to do's. Very detailed and such a lovely genuine lady.
The technicians, wow they are amazing, all the way through I could see the concentration they had the attention to detail and they were always asking if I was OK and made me feel comfortable.

Let's just say there were no cons I am honestly saying I cannot fault in any way shape or form, just outstanding.
