4.5 month update
WORTH IT
Just thought would give everybody an update on my hair transplant. 4 and half months in and everything is going well. I can now style my hair for the first time in over 20 years. It feels great and has without doubt been the best decision i have ever made. The transplanted hairs still have a lot of growing and thickening to go but so far think it looks pretty good and i am happy :)

ORIGINAL POST
FUT+FUE 4600-4800 Graft
Hi all would like to tell you all about my recent hair transplant and experience with Dr Ilker Apaydin and his team. My first contact was with Lelia who was my patient coordinator building up to my surgery. After my initial contact and sending my photos to the clinic i was contacted back within 24 hours with what i would require graft wise to restore my hairline and crown. I had two options FUE only graft estimation 3600 or combined FUT+FUE 4600-4800 graft estimation. After careful consideration went with the combined as the grafts placed in the crown area were far higher than with FUE only. Was also stated taking this option would hopefully give me almost total all over coverage. Now for my arrival in Turkey there was a bit of a mix up with my pick up from the airport when i arrived. This was despite my best efforts to ensure this would not happen with Cansu who was another patient coordinator that made contact with me the day before my surgery. That being said I did manage to eventually get hold of my driver and was taken to a very nice hotel directly across from the hospital. The day of my surgery was met by Cansu in the hotel lobby and taken across to the hospital where i first met DR Ilker Apaydin. He was very nice examined my scalp drew my lines for surgery then left me with his team to prep me for my transplant. Had my hair dyed black first up then shaved, drugs were then given for the transplant, blood taken and we were ready to go. The next part was by far the worst part of the whole process getting the local aesthetic in head. However after this everything was totally painless. DR Ilker Apaydin then carefully cut my FUT strip out and the nurse extracted the hairs for the FUE part. After all grafts were taken DR Ilker Apaydin was back to open all microholes which once done was a short break for some dinner. After dinner the team began implanting the grafts into the holes. This took several hours but the nurses never stopped till it was all completed. A quick painkiller in the bum cheek proceeded this followed by a post op talk from Lelia on everything i needed to know for the coming days and weeks after the transplant. Next morning was the first shampoo day and it was just a quick trip back over to the hospital to get that done then another talk on everything from Cansu the Doctors assistant. I then finally spoke with DR Ilker Apaydin again to run through a few things and he said to keep him updated weekly with photos then monthly in case he could see any problems the transplant. In all would recommend DR Ilker Apaydin and his team if you are thinking about getting a hair transplant. I will update this thread regularly for the next year so you can all see my progress.
