19 Months Post-Op: 4,000 Grafts Promised, 2,400 Delivered. Crown Ignored.
I had a hair transplant at Smile Hair Clinic in Turkey on August 27, 2024, and unfortunately, my experience has not matched what I was told during the consultation.
The Consultation vs. Reality:
On the day of the procedure, I was advised that my donor area could likely provide around 4,000–5,000 grafts. The plan discussed was to restore my hairline and extend coverage toward the crown, with the understanding that I might need a second procedure later for density. However, after the surgery, I was told only 2,400 grafts had been transplanted—significantly less than what was discussed. In addition, the crown area was not treated at all, despite this being part of the original plan.
Failed Aftercare & Communication:
I followed all aftercare protocols and instructions exactly as provided by the clinic to ensure the best possible result. Throughout the recovery, I have been proactive. During my follow-up consultations at regular reviews, I expressed my concerns regarding the missing crown and the lack of density. Each time, I was simply told that it was "still in progress" and that the density would eventually come. I have now waited 19 months, and it is clear those reassurances were simply a way to deflect my valid concerns.
The Final Result (19 Months Post-Op):
At this stage, the outcome is disappointing and does not reflect the expectations set:
Low Density: The overall density is very low, especially across the top; the area appears thin and "see-through" in normal lighting.
High Hairline: The hairline is much higher and less defined than expected, failing to provide the framing I was hoping for.
Untouched Crown: My crown remains completely bare, creating a stark, unnatural contrast with the front.
Summary of Concerns:
A large discrepancy between the promised graft count and the 2,400 performed.
Complete lack of coverage in the crown despite the initial agreement.
Poor density across the transplanted areas.
Dismissive aftercare that ignored my concerns for over a year, despite me following all protocols exactly.
I would strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to make sure they get clear, written confirmation of the graft count and treatment plan beforehand. I now feel I will need a second procedure elsewhere to achieve an acceptable result. (Note: I have posted photo evidence of these results on my Google Maps review for this clinic.)
