Per-fec-ting my hair growth

Over the last year, I've lost A LOT of hair. It's really a toss up if it's from stress, medication, when I used to go to the salon for my purple hair (bleach involved) or BII (breast implant illness).
I been trying different remedies to help my hair grow and stop falling out. It actually cut back dramatically in early December and I was only seeing a few 10-25 strands a day lost. On average a normal person should lose 100 strands a day in shedding. At the end of December I started to see some increase in hair loss. It gradually increased to clumps of hair in the drain or stuck to the shower wall.
I'm starting a new review on a product I found at Walgreen's. I started this product on March 15, 2020
Perfectil Hair 60 tablets
Reg. $34.99 Sale $19.49
I still use HASK Biotin shampoo & I mix HASK Biotin conditioner w/OGX Biotin & Collagen conditioner. I allow that to sit in my hair for 5 min or more and rinse lightly. I try to leave a little behind per my dermatologist recommendation. She also suggested to take bone broth as it's enriched with collagen. I finish with HASK Biotin leave in spray. I added Collagen tablets 1,000 mg 1-2x day. I still take probiotics along with apple cider vinegar tablets. I also have added back Super B-Complex (+Vit C). The Perfectil is loaded with vitamins.
I will try to post at least once a week with updates. Please don't mind my 2 toned hair but I'm trying to let it all grow out. Here's to hoping this helps out!

Wasn't impressed with Perfectil. Preferred and saw better results with Viviscal. Check out my reviews.

Have you tried Viviscal the supplement and Olaplex the shampoo, conditioner and treatment. I had thin hair from breastfeeding, stress, birth control and is possibly hereditary to have thin fine hair but this regimen keeps my hair thick and shiny. Viviscal makes hair grow everywhere though :/ and pretty pricy I try and buy when Target and Walgreens have specials. Olaplex is everything but expensive as well but worth every penny make a hair stronger and doesn't break as much and the strands of hair seem thicker when you use it.

I think I may go back and take Viviscal. Perfectil didn't do anything. I haven't heard of Olaplex so I will look into that. Thanks for the info and recommendations.

Over the last few days I been losing large clumps of hair again. On April 4 I stopped using “Topiramate”. It was use for an “off label” purpose to treat nerve pain in my back. This had been one of my suspicions that was causing hair loss for many years. It was also suggested it could be from all the bleaching I had done throughout 2018 when I went to a salon to have my hair done purple multiple times. I remember specifically the hair dresser saying I had a higher cuticle on my hair since I was mixed w/Filipino. She stated if I was a straight white girl all my hair probably fall out??!! So this has always sat in the back on my mind as another culprit. Then we have BII, breast implant illness as another contender. I’ve been losing hair for just over 1 year now. BII can happen at anytime. I had my implants for 21 months when I started losing hair. Then I was told from my dermatologist that the type of hair loss I was experiencing was from stress?! Stress hair loss is also known as Telogen Effluvium (TE). I went through some major things that piled up at the end of 2017 and a few months into 2018. Then had another major stress event in 2019. I’ve had all my thyroid & hormone levels checked. Everything looked great no issues with any of that. I’m still taking Perfectil everyday however I’m only taking one tablet a day. I’m taking a shot of bone broth just about everyday when I remember.
Here are a few pictures I took recently. I may have to look at my old hair review to compare how my hair has changed since Aug-Oct 2019.

Have you had your thyroid checked? This is the number one reason that people lose hair especially women. If you have hypothyroidism it can cause a lot of hair loss. I always start with making sure there's nothing physically wrong. Yes bleaching can definitely cause breakage as well. Topamax used to make me throw up immediately, you're not really supposed to abruptly stop taking it. Did you tell your doctor? Hope you get it figured out

I had a complete work up with my blood. Thyroid and hormone levels are completely normal. I have multiple reviews and I believe I addressed the bloodwork in my first review of Viviscal. As for the Topamax I was weaned from that under Dr care. I know better to never abruptly stop any medication. Thank you for your concern though. I truly believe the hair loss is due to my implants. I never believed in BII until I started experiencing many symptoms. I always thought that was in their head but now I know better. However I'm not at any point of explanting due to BII issues. Thanks for stopping by and I hope all is well with you.

Yeah, she said she had her thyroid tested and her results were normal.

I attached some pics as you can see of my current hair situation. The clumps of hair are getting smaller most days. I freshened my color a few weeks ago with Splat. I tried something different and liked the result. Only downfall is you see purple wash out for quite a bit afterwards. I usually use Arctic Fox Purple Rain. I’m still trucking along trying to remember to take the Perfectil. I haven’t drank any bone broth in awhile so I need to start doing that again. I take all the other supplements I mentioned in my previous post. Yesterday I trimmed my hair a tad bit to try and even it out. I put coconut oil in my hair and let it sit for 40 minutes the other day. It looked so smooth and felt so soft afterwards. I plan to put it in again and leave it overnight next time.

I need to get coconut oil! I've heard it's good for body moisturization also! Good luck!
