Ok so I've tried everything so far to help with acne and scars so I've come to term that I will most likely always have acne but I want to keep up with scars so I don't get scars on top of old scars and decided to try micro needling before I try the vampire facial. Today I had my first treatment and will have 2 more before I go on acutane.

You are a very pretty lady, I bought ClarityMd for my son's acne and it's a great system. Cleared it up in 2 weeks and he hasn't been without it for the last two years. I purchase the system from lovelyskin.com for about $50. My sister bought it for her daughter and she too won't be without it. It's gentle on the skin and effective. Chemical peels also help with acne. I hope you give ClarityMd a try.

Thank You, I've tried all kinds of systems and including a few different kinds of antibiotics, no help. Might go on acutane but I'm trying to figure out if it's something I'm eating or drinking that causes this. I've tried peels too. anything I do helps temporarily but doesn't do anything to keep them away.

I went through this same thing. Two years ago when I was pregnant with my son and desperate for a cure for my acne (I couldn't use medication while pregnant), I tried all sorts of dietary things. What finally worked for me was eliminating all dairy and dairy products from my diet - no cheese, milk, yogurt, ice cream, nothing cooked or baked with butter, dairy, etc. And within weeks, the cysts flattened and cleared from my skin. About 3 months ago, I tried integrating dairy back into my diet and had the absolute worst breakout of my life, which has now left me with a very bad scar on my forehead (whereas before my forehead was not a problem - my scars on on my cheeks). I suggest you try giving up dairy. Please let me know how it goes. The problem that I am having now, is that I have lost so much weight from this diet that I am severely underweight now (I was already a small person and have lost another 20 pounds) and suffering repercussions from that like hair loss. I have to meet with a nutritionist and allergist to try to get this diet sorted out for me.

I just joined to look into the vampire facial, and I saw your post. Your type of acne looks very similar to what I battled with for years. I tried everything too, and eventually went on accutane, which I really regret. After taking the accutane for even longer than I was supposed to, my acne came back once I stopped accutane. Finally I found a dermatologist who prescribed Spironolactone, which is not even an antibiotic, but it was the cure all for my hormonal acne, as it blocks testosterone. This was the only thing that got rid of my acne. I do use proactive face wash because I like the fact that it exfoliates, and I also like the benzoyl peroxide lotion, but using that alone did not cure my acne, just the spironolactone did. Wishing you all the best, I understand how hard and frustrating it is.

That really helps to hear, thank you so much for sharing. Everything I've tried was temporary and I'm glad you said that about accutane bc I was nervous to try it anyway. I'll look into spironolactone. Thanks

Your welcome. I take 100 mg once a day. No side effects, where as accutane causes very unpleasant long term health problems down the road.

What have you tried so far for your acne scars? I've had two different procedures so far, and both have given me a small amount of improvement on my scars, but I want more. I am on spironolactone too now for my acne, along with avoiding 100% of dairy products and anything made with dairy, my acne seems to be under control. My derm just upped my spiro to 150 mg a day. I do have some side effects such as extreme exhaustion and also sometimes dizziness since it lowers my blood pressure and I already have low blood pressure. I'm annoyed and sad that I have to deal with this medication just to have clear skin at age 35. My doctor said the spiro will not cure the acne, but it may be able to "reset" my system to stop producing acne. I believe my system was messed up initially from the birth control pill. I had perfect skin when on it and everything went downhill with acne when I stopped the pill to start a family.

I use Spironolactone and my skin is so clear now! Zero side effects and it is so inexpensive!!! Wish I'd found it 10 years ago:-)

Me TOO!!!! It would have saved me a lot of sadness & days spent hiding hibernating inside and covering my face with all my hair when I went somewhere....if I had found out about it sooner!

I've been wanting to try microneedling! You can see a huge improvement on your face. They are no longer raised, they are flat which means the skin is healing at a pretty fast rate. I think with a couple of more treatments and maybe a microdermabrasion Later down the road you'll have your amazing skin results! Keep smiling you are a beauty inside and out!

I agree, the first 3 days mr skin looked great compared to prior, although check today's update, the scars don't seem to have been effected much by it. I hope my enlarged pores will minimize again. I have 2 more treatments to go, I've eliminated milk products to try out if that's what's causing all the cystic outbreaks. I must say most of my cystic acne started when I started messing with different procedures and methods to get rid of the little small pimples I used to get. Good luck with your journey. I will post info once my test results come back from food intolerances test.

Have you tried any tea tree oil?
November 20, 2016
Did they use numbing cream beforehand? Also, did they use oxygen therapy after your microneedling or a serum to help with healing?

They used Serum, and oh God yes they numbed me up before small needles repeatedly stabbed my skin lol. Once numb I didn't feel it much at all.

You are really a pretty girl , I think the micro needling will also help. I had a little burn on my face from a Plastic surgeon burn. It felt raised. I have been doing the needling "not as intense as your treatments. " I have been going over that area and it is not raised anymore. So it does work

Have you looked into ZO peels?
