After severe acne breakouts and inflammation of...

After severe acne breakouts and inflammation of the skin after taking lithium, I began a journey over 2,5 years. My skin was a disaster: a lot of cystic acne, icepick scars and a dull complexion, with dehydrated areas and severe herpes outbreaks after the course of lithium. I took Accutane for 4 months and my skin healed, but the marks, PIH, scars and fragile complexion left. I had to wait for a year for my first treatment (because of the Accutane): a CO2-laser recurfacing. The doc that gave me local anesthesia, but did only my cheeks. The esthetician thought that my whole face was numbed. Not. I never had so much pain in my life as back then. Of course; a deep laser on skin without anesthesia: it was hell. They also forgot to prescribe me some levocetirizine: a breakout on my right cheek occured. But still: the icepick scars were left and my complexion was brighter, more luminous.

Still I had some uneven complexion left. So I decided after 1,5 years to do a course of 2 50% Easy TCA's. I prepped my skin with Retin-A for over three months, a natural skin lightening cream and as always I did put my SPF 50 on. So my skin was prepared for the first Easy TCA.

Today I went to my therapist for the first TCA, a medium deep TCA-based peeling with additional alpha hydroxy acids and vitamins. It was done in a clinic in Haarlem, a nice city next to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. S, my therapist, complimented me on my skin. It was bright and equal: perfect conditions for my first TCA. She prepped the skin with acetone, so that there were no boundaries for the TCA to penetrate the skin.

The TCA is combined with AHA, saponines, antioxidants and vitamins to give the best results. There was a burning sensation and good frosting.

The Easy TCA peel is a revolutionary peel, especially designed to minimize the discomfort of the peel. Also it has a great Post-Peel Treatment Mask that stops the burning sensation and helps to recover easier. Also it has some great tyrosinasis, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammation benefits to the skin. After a short period of time, when my face had an equal frosting, she stopped the TCA peel with the Post Peel Mask. The post peeling mask contains antioxidants, vitamins A, C, E and H, anti-tyrosinase, phytic acid, precursor of the tretinoin, growth factors, essential fatty acids and seleniomethionin. The last ingredient is similar to tretinoin. Directly after the TCA and the mask the stinging, burning sensation went away and now my skin feels just warm, like I'm out in the sun. It feels just like summer!

Of course I just had my TCA (a couple of hours ago). S was very helpful, she had great knowledge and told me step-by-step what she was doing, how it works and what my results can be. I will post in the days to come pictures of my acne-period, scars, pre-treatment, during treatment and after treatment pictures.

What are your benefits of the TCA peel? And were they as expected to be? Since it is my first medium deep peel, I don't know what to expect. S. gave me her mailaddress in case of trouble and you can contact the clinic 7 days per week in case of an emergency. Let's hope we don't need to call.

I keep you guys updated!

Therapist S

S was very helpful, skilled and enthusiastic. She knows what she does and welcomes you in a relaxed atmosphere. The peel was done correctly and with a minimum discomfort. She spent the time with me to look after and waited until all the pain was gone. She gave me her personal e-mailaddress in case of questions.
