5 years post Gynecomastia surgery & have deformed areolas & terrible scars

Very depressed after 5 years of having surgery with Dr. Basu

Dr. Basu and his staff were very kind to me but the results of my procedure have left me with deformed areolas terrible scars and so much emotional distress. This surgery was done in 2017 and I am finally posting this because I am just still so sad and can not believe my chest will look like this when I take off my shirt. I came here for gynecomastia surgery, excited that finally I was going to have gyno removed. I had gyno since I was 13 and was looking forward to my procedure. Now I wish I would have never got it done. Dr Basu was very kind to me and so were all his nurses but this has left me depressed I just don’t know how to cope with it. Cosmetic surgery is supposed to look natural and not noticeable, but this is just calling for attention, i can never take my shirt off in public again. Having intimacy makes me nervous because my chest just looks so damaged. This has really brought down my self esteem as people always ask what happened to my chest.

I dont know if he would reach out to me about this, but i am willing in getting a scar repairing surgery.

I had a friend who has a similar situation and he was able to have the scars tattooed so they weren't even noticeable. If you choose to go this route make sure you pick the right artist. Hope that helps.

This is what i am thinking, i have been working on building muscle. Once i have a nice chest im thinking about getting a nice tattoo around my chest

When u say he had a tattoo, do you mean a regular black ink tattoo or a tattoo to match his areola color?

He had his entire areola tattooed a pinkish skin tone and had a colored chest piece done across the chest. It took the focus off the nipple.

That sounds like an idea i might be willing to try. Tattoo my areolas entirely a nice shade of pink and then just go around the areolas with a black ink tattoo. I really never thought of this, thank you so much for this comment

I've been for a consultation for this procedure (diff surgeon) and he's explained this might happen. He said there's a few things he can do to try help if so. It sounded intense though. I have a keloid in centre of my chest and both laser & collagen PIN treatments have took out a lot of the raised areas and darkness of the scar. It's smoother, smaller & lighter. So there is hope. Only go to doctor clinics for these treatments not beauty therapists or whatever you call them in US. It takes time to change too. Get treatments every three months or so.
