You’re probably reading this review attempting to relate to others, wanting to find the best possible surgeon for your needs/wants, just as I did, hoping to do find someone who understands your goals. I work in the aesthetic healthcare industry, so I asked trusted doctors for their professional opinion, as well as others who had it done or know those who have. (Trust me, more women than you think have had this done!) I could have gone anywhere.
I had wanted a breast aug for as long as I can remember. I knew what I wanted, now to find someone who could not only deliver, but tell me if my vision is realistic. After endless research & 2 consultations I quickly learned that Dr. Joe was the surgeon for me. I have not had children, may in the future, live a very active lifestyle (bootcamp classes, weights, cardio, Yoga, bike etc.) but still wanted a bigger, augmented look, I showed him visions. He explained this is my augmentation, not a cookie cutter procedure, it is tailored to my anatomy, my desired outcome and his capabilities with my given anatomy. I am 29 y/o, 5’5”, 127lb, 34B pre-op. Based on his analysis and measurements (and my vison) we decided on silicone gel implants, 450cc & 475cc high profile (no one even mentioned me needing two different sizes at the previous plastic surgeon consult.) Dr. Joe and his staff are very thorough! Given my anatomy I was able to choose my incision site; I chose axillary incision (armpit) YAY for NO scars on my breasts! At the previous plastic surgeon consult, I was told that is “not possible and infection rate is higher, because armpits are dirty.” Dr. Joe didn’t just tell me the armpit was possible with silicone AND with less chance of infection, he showed me a published medical journal proving that previous statement false!
With the Quick Recovery Technique, I had surgery on Wednesday morning, went back to work Friday. I was tired and sore, but the mild discomfort was tolerable, Tylenol was all I needed after 2 days. I went to dinner with friends Saturday night and shopped Sunday.
I was able to have a full consult, do my pre-op exam and schedule surgery all in one appointment. At 3 weeks’ post-op I started back in my workout routine (with direction to ease into weights and I personally do very limited chest work.)
The entire process was very personal, informative and smooth. I am now a 34DD-32DDD, this has not only made me feel more feminine, confident and look proportionate, it has also motivated me to stay healthy and work even harder in the gym, (with a very supportive bra of course.)
Don’t wait. You won’t regret it!
Side note: I used to go elsewhere for Peels, HydraFacials and injections; Xeomin/Botox. Now I only see Dr. Joe. He and his staff go above and beyond. The SPA ladies are knowledgeable and sweet. Prevention is key! Thank you for changing my life Dr. Joe! I couldn’t be more grateful. Can’t wait to try CoolSculpt!

Dear Kmnia, Wow what a personal review! Thanks for mentioning my staff. We are all so lucky to be working together. You really gave a lot of details and that will definitely play it forward for other patients, especially the armpit, gel, infection rate and quick recovery! Yes, it is nice to avoid the cuts on your breasts. The Aesthetic Surgery Journal published an article several years ago proving that the armpit incision has less bacteria than the breast fold incision or the nipple incision. This paper, published on April 26, 2011 by Dr. Sophie Bartsich, is from the prestigious New York Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Medical Center and is titled “The Breast: A Clean-Contaminated Surgical Site”. The investigators proved scientifically that the nipple region demonstrated a bacteria concentration which was five times higher than the breast fold site which demonstrated a concentration four times higher than the armpit (axillary) area! Much has been published in our plastic surgery journals on the armpit breast augmentation in recent years. Another study which is in the link below from the Aesthetic Surgery Journal showed a lower infection rate than normal in 2,000 patients undergoing an armpit (axillary) breast augmentation. These Plastic Surgery Journals are “peer-reviewed” and edited, they are the gold-standard in our field as being valid science. You may review the web reference below from the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and you will see the axillary BA method outlined.
All the best, and thank you again, Dr. Joe

Thanks so much for your thorough review. I have surgery with Dr.Joe this month and am still unsure about incision site. Would you mind sharing your scAR now that it's been awhile? There are so many surgeons and lay leople that don't have positive things to say on the armpit incision that it's making me unsure if I really want to go that route. Thankd again s much for your review!
