4 months on. I can still see the tattoo but to people who don’t know it was there before, they think it’s just a birthmark or skin blemish. I’m happy having the scar as it distracts from the remaining ink. Photo makes it appear much worse than it is in real life. Im very happy with it and would recommend excision as a scar is much better than the ugly tattoo

There are many emerging options right around the corner, so I'd wait and stay updated on those developments. Today's tattoo removal, even pico

There are many emerging options right around the corner, so I'd wait and stay updated on those developments. Today's lasers, even pico, can't fully clear skin with no side effects. There's always residual pigment left and you often trade a tattoo for something that looks like a nasty skin disease.

Unless you know you'll be absolutely fine with a scar, even if perfect removal comes in the future, I'd excise it, but I personally would regret not waiting.

I'd wait another 5 years to see how femto and bisphosphonate liposomal cream turns out.

That should be IF, not unless.

I understand how you feel monicam12345. I have used both lasers and picosure is by far the best. I would recommend seeing a dermatologist if it is causing you so much distress and ask about excision. I wish you luck in your journey!

Hello! Thank you so much for sharing! How's the scar turning? Has it turned less red?

It's been a few month and the scar is still a little red. I can still see more tattoo than I'd like but others say they can't tell and it just looks like a skin blemish/ birthmark. I guess I can see it because I know what I'm looking for.

Looks great! How big was the original tattoo? I have a big multi coloured 8" by 3" tattoo on my upper calf. That i want to get treated. How long was the procedure?

Thanks regrettatoo. It was about 3 inches long and an inch at the widest part. It took about 1hour but that was about 50 minutes worth of local anaesthetic and 10 minutes of cutting and stitching. I'm getting a bigger one removed in my other leg using picosure and then having parts surgically removed also. It's a large one about 6 inches by 3 inches. Have a look t my other review for pictures.

When I was looking through the pictures I thought this was just a picture of a scar. I was surprised to read that you felt you could still see anything. I opened the picture again after reading your post to reexamine the picture and I still see a scar that is healing. Just wanted to share an honest observation from a stranger as I know it's easy to dismiss comments from those you know about "not seeing it" for a variety of reasons. Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for your comment Danaynayy! It makes my day when I hear great feedback like yours! I guess I over examine and because I know what I'm looking for I see it all the time!

Hi there ! I can see this is in Australia? I am struggling to find somewhere in Melbourne to have my tattoo excision. What state was this in ?

I had it done at my dermatologist office in Griffith NSW. I went to my GP and told them how anxious the tattoos made me feel and he gave me a referral for a dermatologist to have it surgically removed

Here is a pic two days post procedure .
Even though the Dr left some of the tattoo behind, I feel that it is barely visible now. It jut looks like a skin blemish. I'm so happy with the result and will definitely be going ahead with the other leg even though it is much larger than this one.

Great job. I also found a dr who would surgically excise mine: but they're enormous so I'm leaving it as a last resort. I may need excision for some white parts. Great to see your result! A small scar is definitely better than a tattoo that causes you stress and anxiety!

Hi rosestrio, the other leg has a large tattoo that I want excised and was going to do it in stages but have decided with the dr advice that I will have a few more picosure boost treatments and then excise the stubborn ink. I wish you luck and speedy clearance while on your removal journey
