Requested fat loss pics

Hey, everyone. I have had some people request that I put pics up of the fat loss I experienced from my laser procedures on my review. I weighed less in the before pictures than the after pics. While the laser helped my acne scars, it completely melted away my facial fat. I had extreme fat loss and it aged me 10 years easily and rapidly created many wrinkles. I had a fat graft done on my face to repair the damage (in my early thirties, no less) five years after my first laser procedure. The amount of fat my plastic surgeon grafted was as much as he usually does on the women who have fat grafts done in their 60s and 70s. If you do not have significant issues with your skin, PLEASE stay away from lasers!!!!!!!!!!!! They can truly damage your face. I continued to experience extreme facial atrophy for about 1-1.5 years and was left with essentially no facial fat regardless of how much weight I gained.

Please PLEASE PLEASE laser with extreme caution!!!

Thank you! Dr. Gary Culbertson in Sumter, SC did my fat grafting. He restored my face after the extreme atrophy I experienced. Thank you for your kind words!!

Laser with caution

Mitty27
I am updating to urge members to laser with caution. My acne scarring dramatically improved from laser treatment; my friends and family saw a noticeable change. I do want to warn others, however, that I did have negative side effects that I have been correcting over the past year... The worst side effect was substantial fat loss after my intense treatment in the worst/deepest areas of my scarring. I couldn't tell what had changed in my face after the laser treatment but I felt less confident in some ways... I gradually realized (only after really examining my face) that the loss of volume in my face was fairly drastic. I have had to fill in these atrophied areas with voluma (a facial filler) to regain volume in my face as it never returned when I gained back weight I had lost from stress.

If I were able to go back, I might have tried other methods before hopping into laser treatment. I really encourage others to look into subcision and fat transfer as potential options before trying laser...

While I am still happy with my improved scarring, it has been a long road!! I am going to change my review to "not sure" instead of worth it as others have experienced the same side effects as I have and they greatly regret their procedures. Please know that there are treatments to improving the side effects of laser damage but they can be expensive. Good luck!!

You said that you had a different kind of laser treatment the second time. Do you know what type of laser it was that caused the fat loss?

Please post the name of this different laser and are you happy with the results from this laser. If you had to do it all over, would you still do the two Matrix CO2 lasers first and then change to a different laser?
