A return customer! What brought me back to Dr....

A return customer! What brought me back to Dr. Aycock was a breast reduction. I've always been chesty and a photo that was taken of me in the summer of 2014, combined with the neck/back issues I'd been having for years, pushed me over the edge. I couldn't take it anymore and decided to consult the trusty Dr. Aycock. We picked up right where we left off 8 years ago. He was just as happy to see me as I was him. The consultation was as it was during my first experience, professional, informative, and the level of confidence was reassuring. Luckily I was a candidate for the procedure, and with the back and neck issues I'd been having, my insurance was a candidate to pay for it! :-) I met with Linda, his Patient Care Coordinator and picked up with her right where we left off. Everything was explained thoroughly and since insurance was involved this time, there were forms/paperwork/questions that had to be tended to. Linda made the process a piece of cake and was diligent in following up with my insurance as well as me. She called me one afternoon in September of 2014 with the good news that my insurance was going to cover the procedure! All I had to do was schedule the date, which I did for October. Much like my first experience in 2006, all of the staff were professional, friendly, and experienced. They took the best care of me. Dr. Aycock came in to meet me prior to scrubbing in to mark me up with the Sharpie pen and tend to any questions I may have come up with since our last visit. I had none. I wasn't nervous one bit, just excited. He left to scrub in and the anesthesiologist came to hook up my iv. She like everyone else, was awesome! She hooked me up quickly and pain free. She told me, "in a few seconds it's going to feel like you've had a few glasses of wine. Enjoy it." That was the last thing I remember. I woke up in recovery 6 hours later - (don't be alarmed by the length of time! My policy was, if you're going under for a breast reduction, you might as well have some liposuction while you're knocked out in the hands of one you trust!) Upon waking up, although I was wrapped up like a mummy, the very first thing I noticed was that I could BREATHE. I did not fully realize how much PRESSURE my heavy breasts were placing on my chest until that very moment. I went home that afternoon and slept. I don't want to say recovering from surgery was a piece of cake, but it pretty much was. At most, I could say it was an inconvenience. Dr. Aycock had provided pain medication, but with the 72 hour nerve block he had done internally, I think I took one pill during my entire recovery. The inconvenience was that I had to sleep on my back for several weeks, and my arm motion was limited for a couple of weeks. The tall woman here asking people shorter than me to reach things in the top cabinet was ironic. Again, that being the worst of recovery. My follow up care was stellar any my results? I am speechless. Dr. Aycock's amazing skill leaves me in awe. He was very focused on keeping me in proportion with the rest of my body which meant bringing me down to a D cup. I am thrilled beyond belief, that not only can I breathe, but my neck/shoulder issues are GONE. My wardrobe has changed and can now include cute camisoles, tank tops, and BUTTON UP blouses - something I avoided like the plague before. My experience could NOT have been better! Best plastic surgeon ever!
