Bandages and binding!
I had a binder with 2 drains right after surgery. I was nervous about all of it! I didn't open my binder until day 3 po just to check my bandages which were gauze tape and steri strips. I showered day 3 so I had to take and replace all the gauze off which took me about an hour! Day 5 I kept the binder on but left the gauze off except for around my drains. I also had my 1st po apt that day. My skin started to get raised and itchy around the steri strips. Doc said in could remove them usually the start to fall off by then so the next am I took them off and only had the binder on. I had no more itching. I have to wear my binder for 3 weeks total the no compression garment ( like spanx) for the next few weeks after that :) the binder is uncomfortable it moves and bunches but it feels weird when I take it is now a definite love hate relation ship!
Ups and downs but now more ups
Today I'm am post op day 12 yayyy!! It seems with every day I feel and heal better. Day 1-3 were tiring not bad pain taking my pain med every 4 hrs. I did mostly resting getting up every few hours to walk and move my legs and empty my drains. Day 4 I felt amazing! I did light house work rested twice during the day and started only using ibuprophen for pain except at bedtime- still sleeping in a recliner :( Day 5: rough day but I got my drains out! Also had some vertical stitches that also were removed- I was just pooped out and a bit sore. Day 6-10: one day good and the next I was wiped out. My hubs got a sitter for the kids and took me out for fish and chips and the next day yikes! I was hurting girl! Ok no more gassy heavy food. Day 11 gave my kids a bath, cooked and did house work. I went to the grocery store and went slow but got everything done. Apparently it pooped me out because an 85 year old lady saw me turning in a check out and ran in front of me! I needed a good laugh--and yes still slept I my recliner. Day 12 HURRAY!! I feel amazing slept in bed even on my side! At first it was good one day bad the other now it just seems to get better!
I was so embarrassed of the way I looked. Even...
I was so embarrassed of the way I looked. Even when being intimate with my hubby I always wore a shirt. All I heard was that I looked good for having two kids or all moms have that pooch. So finally we decided to get a consultation done 1st we went to a place in Oshkosh, it's about 1 1/2 away and it was horrible! The doctor didn't take the time to listen to me and drew a pic of my breasts facing down when they didn't (I was also considering Breast aug) he said I would have to only do a lift and that he would have to resize my nipples, when I said I didn't want to do that he said he wouldn't do the surgery to make this short I found a different dr! I went to Green Bay plastic surgery which was much closer! I met Dr Lee. He was so wonderful!! He took the time to listen and give me all my options ( and I didn't need a breast lift and am a great candidate for augmentation) however I decided that a tummy tuck was all I wanted!! I am 5 days po and love my results so far and can't wait for my next apt! He staff was so awesome my nurse before surgery was the best ever!! I can't thank them enough!!
