Hair Transplant with Dr. Bolton - Fort Lauderdale, FL

ORIGINAL POST

I got a HT from Dr. Brett Bolton/Great Hair...

WORTH IT
I got a HT from Dr. Brett Bolton/Great Hair Transplants in Ft. Lauderdale about 16 mths ago- I'm very pleased with the results and the strip scar in back is virtually invisible (especially compared to a big scar back there from another HT I had about 20 years ago)...Dr. Bolton was able to blend in much smaller grafts between old plugs and looks much more natural now...the entire procedure (consultation, surgery, follow up, etc) was great/seamless and I highly recommend this doctor...I will post some pics soon

Congratulations! :) I can't wait to see your pictures. What was your recovery like?

Beyond a bit of light swelling the first couple of days, the recovery was virtually painless and really was an all around great experience. Dr. Bolton said upfront that I'd need 2 surgeries, one to fix/blend the prior HT plugs in the front and middle area and then another surgery later to beef up the crown (heard the same from a few other surgeons that I had consultations with before seeing Dr. Bolton.) I haven't gone back to have the 2nd session done yet, but I'm really happy with the results from the first session and will probably schedule the next session in a few months....I still have a monster scar in the back from a previous HT I had 20 years ago with a doctor out of Delray (which was a horrible experience), but I rub a bit of cheap dark brown scalp concealer along the entire scar line each day which does a nice job hiding it. I'm looking into scalp micro pigmentation for that scar, which I've heard great things about, but will probably wait until after the 2nd HT surgery and then start researching local SMP options in S Florida area after that.

Got it! That's great advice about the concealer. Will you do FUT again for the next procedure?

I'll definitely stick with the FUT again- for me, I had almost entire front to fill/correct (and not the biggest donor area available thanks to the previous surgery), so the FUT was the way to go for me to get as much hair as possible ...in my opinion, after doing a lot of research and consultations with surgeons offering both types, as long as you find a surgeon that can leave a very small scar in back (I asked to see a lot of pics and contacted former patients, including a guy from this site who used Bolton as well with good results), FUT was the better procedure, not to mention far less expensive, for the large area I had done...

That makes sense! I'd love to see photos of the new hairline and donor area, if you're comfortable sharing.

Ah, and now I look back and remember you said that photos are forthcoming. D'oh!

Photos?? I’m in Las Vegas NV but considering flying to Fl to have a procedure done. Would really appreciate photos!
