I Had a GREAT Ethnic Rhinoplasty Experience with Dr. Ucal!!
WORTH IT
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Ucal.
When I was researching the rhinoplasties, I randomly found him after watching a youtube video. I was in love with his work on Instagram. I contacted him through RealSelf. The same week I got a WhatsApp message from a lady named Hati. She is a clinic hub coordinator. Our conversations were smooth and efficient. However, a thing she can do better is working on the timeliness of her replies. Hence why I gave one star. But she was very nice. I got quoted for $2750 USD. The deposit payment ($250) was smooth too. I paid the deposit through transferwise. In the beginning, I was suspicious because it wasn't a wire transfer. But after researching the company it appeared on the list of registered companies in Canada and it's a Canadian company too! I booked my surgery day for the second week of January. My surgery was on February 08. I arrived in Turkey on February 06.Some days before arriving in Turkey, over members of the clinic hub team contacted me. Nil and Mr. Murat contacted me to make sure everything was well. They sent me my pre-op information (Hati also did) and info I need to know before arriving. Even before arriving at the airport, I had information on how to get in contact with the shuttle driver. When I arrived at the airport, I had a bit of trouble figuring out the wifi. It is not a simple wifi connection. You have to go to a kiosk and put in your passport info. It later prints a ticket and you use it for the wifi. Once this was done, I texted Mr. Murat who sent me info on how to find the driver. At the exit, we found each other faster than I thought. Before arriving at the hotel, we stopped at Acibadem hospital to do some blood work and the covid test before going to the hotel. at Acidebadem they asked for my passport, which is normal. The transfer from Istanbul airport to the Sheraton hotel was smooth. Once at the Sheraton, they took the security deposit and passport. The room was gorgeous! I had a corner room with a massive view! Istanbul is gorgeous! The breakfast was EXCELLENT!!! All the time, Nil and Mr. Murat were in contact with me.Monday 08 February, the driver came to pick me up at 6:45 AM. Once in my hospital room is where I met Vlada. She is the hospital coordinator and super sweet. She made sure everything was fine and I was good. She was also my translator. After signing the papers, she took the money. She was also there when the hospital staff came in for some pre-op questions. She made sure my safe was working and I had access to the emergency button and fridge. She was fast at replying at well. At my arrival, I thought my surgery was going to be at 8 or 9 AM, but it ended up being at 12 PM. Around 8:40 AM Dr. Yusuf came in for the pre-op consultation. He was very nice and jolly. I also think is very cute haha. We planned to take some rib cartilage as well. He answered all my questions and reassured me. After his departure, a nurse came in to put the IV. This IV was painful. My awakening from surgery was not smooth. I did not like it. I have surrounded by many people talking loudly, borderline yelling, "wake-up". That unpleasant awakening is my I took off a star. I automatically felt my mouth, teeth, and lips being numb like I had oral surgery. My throat was dry. My first words were "water". But they couldn't give me water until 2 hours post-surgery. My throat was very very sore. This surgery was my first ever surgery. Maybe all these feelings are normal post-op, but they were new to me. They were not pleasant as well. Once in my room, I asked for water, but they couldn't give it to me as of yet. 2h30 min later, they brought in some very light liquid food. I was so happy because my throat would finally get some hydration. This was the best feeling ever!!! A nurse was there to help me out of the bed for the first time to go to the washroom. I had a lot of trouble and pain due to the rib cartilage. 1h30 later they brought me some dinner. It was light as well. I wasn't hungry. I stayed at the hospital all night. Every 2 hours nurses will apply ice packs on my eyes for 1 hour. I had little to no swelling in my opinion. I also constantly received medications and pain killers. The nurses came fast when I called them. I packed throat pills, strepsil, and benilyn. I was blessing myself for doing that. Hot water really helped with my throat as well. Another discomfort was from the silicone tampons in my nose. I had to breathe with my mouth. The next morning I was feeling a bit better. Dr. Yusuf came and told me the surgery went better than expected. I was so happy and relieved. He was that after removing my fat tissue under my nose, I had thin skin. He answered some questions I had too. 1-2 hours later, Valda came. She asked me how I was doing and helped me pack. I also asked if on my way back to the hotel I can stop for pineapple juice, honey, and tea. She instructed the driver and so he did. Once at the hotel, a nurse came to clean my nose and give me some medication. I was in contact with the nurses too. Two days before my departure, a nurse came in to do my covid test. I found this very practical and perfect that it was in the package I paid for. The day before my departure, I took my cast off. Dr. Yusuf was once again great, kind, and cute. He taught me how to massage my face and what to do and not do. The driver picked and dropped me at the hotel. It was the same for the departure from the hotel to the airport. Overall, I give Dr. Ysuf 5 STARS. He was awesome. My nose is still swollen but I can tell it is cute and will look cuter once all the swelling is down. The clinic hub team was great with me. They were kind, smooth, and efficient. I do not regret the package deal that I paid for. I really enjoyed their service and Dr. Yusuf as well! Until now, I have no regrets.
