I chose Dr. Crista Clark for my tummy tuck and...
WORTH IT$12,301
I chose Dr. Crista Clark for my tummy tuck and posterior liposuction procedure after reading reviews of her on this site and after my consultation with her. From the moment I entered her comforting and welcoming new facility with its spot on design elements I knew I was someplace special. Dr. Clark and her entire staff are open, attentive and extremely professional.
I have wanted to do this for many years and after having an amazing facelift with Dr. Jonathan Sykes two years ago, I knew it was time to do something about the excess baggage I have been carrying most of my life. I was an overweight child and teenager and I final decided to lose weight in my first year of college. I went from 230 to 140 pounds in 9 months. I maintained at 150 pounds and lived a normal healthy lifestyle until menopause and life changes hit me at 51 years old. Coupled with my folks passing (2003 and 2007) and my husband (2014), my weight had begun to creep back up to 185. My primary care physician in 2015, told me to lose weight or risk getting Type 2 Diabetes. That scared me straight as my dad had passed from that disease. Thanks to Kaiser's wonderful Weight Management Behaviors class and using portion control I was able to lose 30 pounds in a year. I have maintained the weight loss through exercise, my Fitbit Flex, and logging my food intake. My physician gave me an OK to go ahead last month as my BMI is normal and my labs are perfect.
My first consulting surgeon recommended an extended tummy tuck, no liposuction, and the use of a cumbersome pain pump. Dr. Clark recommended a tummy tuck with included front liposuction and the option of additional posterior liposuction, and the use of Exparel for pain management. My research indicated that her approach was a superior choice for me to attain my goal. By choosing to add the liposuction to my back (requiring me to be turned and re-draped, etc.) I incurred an additional $2800.00, but it is well worth it so I can better achieve the look I want.
I am excited as all get out to get this done and can hardly wait for May16, to arrive. My boy friend will be a great support to me as he will stay with me for a few days until I am back on my feet. I have never had children but I had a laparoscopic gall bladder removal years ago and I know that abdominal surgery is more painful post op than a facelift. But since I worked in healthcare my entire career and I have a very strong constitution I am confident that my recovery will go smoothly.
Taking photos of myself was very difficult as I have been ashamed of my body my entire life. But in doing so I am now even more certain that this is what I want and need to do.
I will post more as my surgery date approaches...
P.S. I am having difficulty attaching my Before photos so they will hopefully follow soon.

Before frontal photo
After my 30 pound weight loss last year my legs and hips are pencil thin (I have never had what they now call a "booty" LOL!). All my remaining fat and loose skin is right around my middle. I do have some hanging arm flap skin but since I'm going to be 67 in 9 days, that is a non issue.
