I have been inspired to post my story because my journey of having a flat stomach is just around the corner! I'm ecstatic and scared as heck!!! I have been obsessed with this site in the past month! I am 6' and have always carried my weight in my abdomen and butt! ESPECIALLY in the past 10 yrs when I started a sales job and always was eating wrong, and just not moving. In dec of 2012 I was at my all time high, even passing what I weighed when I was pregnant of 285! :-(
So it was time for change! Jan 2013 I joined WW on line and started doing Zumba.....slowly and then adding more classes and then weights and elliptical too! I work full time and have the 2 busy kids so trying to fit it all in was a big change to me! The butt I was able to shrink with a LOT of Zumba and doing weight watchers last year! 80lbs gone as of dec 2012, and kept off this year with continual hard work! I wanted to look healthier and great for the new 40's decade that was just around the corner! My kids are 5.5 and almost 8! I love hem dearly, and I have NEVER had a surgery before, except for the 2 c-sections to have them! My husband has loved me at any size and doesn't mind the "ROLL" but I cannot stand it anymore!!! I NEVER thought I would do plastic surgery......esp the idea of being cut from hip to hip! But I know in order to be truly happy with all I have accomplished with my weight loss, this needs to be GONE! Cuz as the PS said, I could 1000 sit ups a day and it will NEVET go away! :-(. So here we are with a Nov 4th scheduled surgery date! I am VERY confident of my surgeon (I know others that have gone to him)....and he has awesome staff! I will share my story as I have LOVED reading others! Anesthesia scares the HELL out of me!!!!!!!! Pics to come! :-) A QUESTION THOUGH......for you Zumba goers.....when were you able to go back to doing Zumba?!? I go 3-4x a wk now and I am very sad to know it could be 8-12 wks before I can go back!

So excited to have this ROLL GONE!
I can't believe I am posting these! Only fair though with how open everyone is on this site! I too can't imagine the change that is only 7 wks away! Curious to those that have had a TT......with the muscle wall tightened and everything stretched and lifted etc.....do you ever feel like its hard to take a deep breathe? I do have small hips under that roll! It's been 15+ yrs since I have seen them! I can't wait!!!!

Hi, I had my TT on Aug19th after losing 100lbs and being left with yucky, hanging skin. I had the weight off for two yrs so although I was scared, I was ready. I still have lots of swelling but that's my only complaint. My recovery has been fantastic. I will be thinking of you, best of luck:)

Thank you so much for the kind words! Did the doc say WHY there is so much swelling! Seems to be a constant complaint! :-(. Could be worse right! ;-). I'm glad your pain isn't worse than the swelling!
One month for you! Congrats! I am hoping to go back to work after 1 mth!

He told me that the swelling is normal and different for everyone, he finds that ppl who have lost a lg amount of when tend to swell for longer, he assured me it will go down tho. I was off pain meds after two and a half days and then used xtra strength Tylenol as needed. I was lucky and had minimal pain. My dr was surprised and says I must have a high tolerance. Keep me posted on your journey, it's so worth it!!!

It's something about the lymphatic drainage system - gets disrupted with TT surgery. Fluids have nowhere to drain so you swell. Hence, lymphatic massages or wearing a binder to keep the swelling at bay. With the TT procedure, a 'pocket' is created to allow all the drainage to seep there or through the dreaded 'devil drains' - best to keep those as long as possible (or bearable). If too much drainage occurs, a seroma develops and you go thru 'swell hell'. Gotta wear that binder, keep the drains in, and not over-exert. Just some notes I gathered from different reviews along the way, but your PS can give you a more professional explanation. Good luck on your journey! :)

Love learning so much in this site! ;-).

You sound like me scared to be put under is one of my worst fears. I have had a c-section and was put under then but it's still scary. I can tell you that one minute your looking at the ceiling drifting off to sleep and it feels like your only out for a couple of mins and then they want you to wake up. You are sleeping so good you don't want to wake up.

October 11, 2014
Thank you for that! ;-). I hope all these kind words hold true! everyone says what a piece of cake it is! The going under part! LOL!

October 11, 2014
It is from previous experience. It's crazy how time doesn't exist when your out cold! Lol

October 16, 2014
I've got 5 days left so can you imagine MY nerves? It's given me a dodgy tummy I hope that doesn't last. Lool. I won't sugar coat it, the nearer you get the more nervous/anxious you become. I booked mine very close (5 weeks) so I wouldn't have to stress so much. Fingers crossed it will all be worth it for us. Will be looking out for updates and see you on the flat side girl!!!!!! :D

October 16, 2014
Wow! Yes I hear u! I just said last night.....wow 19 days! Pre-op on Monday!

October 16, 2014
What the heck! The rest didn't go through! Sorry! Anyway I said ice packs, meds and recliner will be our best friends! Go do something nice for yourself!!! Mani/pedi! ;-)

October 16, 2014
Mani pedi sounds great but you can't have any polish for surgery so guess it will just be a hand and foot massage lol I'm all set even got a lil Zimmer frame on eBay loool. Got a pee bottle, extra pillows, something to help number 2's, ice packs you name it. Let's do this (covers eyes)

Hi, you have made one life changing decision, and about to take the second decision which is also life changing. Congratulations. Look forward to the big day with excitement and trust your Professionals. The success to this procedure is a positive outlook and plenty of rest. Forget about the anaesthetic, you won't know anything about it, but make sure you tell the anaesthetist everything, like any heartburn (important) or an history of low or high blood pressure. You have read my review, and ignoring the Belly Button 'hiccup', I would have been over the TT in three weeks!! I wish you all the best and you will have a great result, just let your body heal I its own time. I am expecting great things from you and will be expectantly waiting to hear from you on the 'Fab Flat side'
